This game I think you have to try and keep your shape a lot more too. If you're midfielders are getting pulled all over the place, and you try to press and use the trap like you mentioned without having good pressure on the ball or players closing gaps for passes, you can get screwed with the pressure as well.

Just seems to me like they put such an emphasis on positioning in this one that might make it more realistic, but a lot harder when you're constantly overrunning the ball and can't defend any kind of change of direction efficiently.

Nah

Bale and Ronaldo are so ridiculous in this game that Biabiany is pretty pointless, anyway

Started Manager Mode with Everton. Brought in Januzaj (wanted Depay but couldn't afford him), Gio Dos Santos and Kurt Zouma. Got Julian Green on loan with an option to buy.

I can't finish. I've dominated every game I've played, but I always lose because I can't score. Chelsea scored on me with 0 shots on target (they accidentally crossed the ball in) and won despite me dominating possession and having far more chances. Been VERY frustrating. Anybody else having trouble getting the hang of things?

Green can't score? Also find it surprising you can't score with Barkley.

What's your formation?

Why did you bring Green in on loan? Weird to have a player rated 67 on a team like Everton. I thought about buying him with Leicester but Bayern wanted 9 mil, those fricks.

The secondary pressure/double team button (R1 on the PS4) is your best friend in defending this season.

I got beat so many times with my defenders that I hardly ever switch to them. Just hang with midfielders and let the backs bring their own pressure...they defend true to their stats instead of you just stabbing wildly.

Then you can use the midfielders to anticipate and intercept passes or force attackers in directions they don't want to go.

I kind of do this but instead I control the CB that's not near the ball and watch/intercept the runs.

Oh and if you change the commentary language on single player FUT seasons it changes the half length to 3 minutes for extra coin grindage.

My trick to defending now is never touching my back line unless it's absolutely necessary. They make the plays just fine. I just pressure with a mid, and usually, that does the trick. Otherwise, you get burned with a bad choice in direction or timing on a tackle.

It probably won't happen, but be aware that EA can ban you for it because it's an exploit. They choose weird things to ban people for.

Interesting points and it makes sense. I know I'm behind, but on 11, I was all about pressing the ball and not allowing a lot of space for through balls and trapping to get tackles. Yea, that doesn't work as well this game so i can see how using your defenders to work for interceptions and letting other players press can be effective.

Guess I'll have to keep fooling around with it and finding the right formation to find what works best.

I wouldn't think they could since what if I legitimately just wanted a Mexican commentator?

ETA : I do actually like hearing Goooolllllllll gol gol golazo!

It's a nice change from hearing the same shite over and over again. Though, I'm sure that hearing "Copa Mundial" will start to wear on me, too (I'm assuming that they also talk about the World Cup non-stop).

In other news, the positions of Atletico's midfielders are annoying as frick in UT.

What national team offers have people got? I haven't had to turn any down yet. I was hoping to hold out for USA, but I've got Ireland, Wales, Slovenia, and Bulgaria so far.

I switch to the Mexican commentators from time to time. I'm just giving out a warning. You have to do the same steps every time, and because of that, they can easily track who's exploiting it by who is continuously playing shorter matches. Like I said, I doubt they'll do anything, but they've banned people for exploits before. Some of the people who abused the coin boost exploit from last year got their accounts reset. It was all over /r/fifa around this time last year.

That said, I love the Mexican commentators every year. They always come up with some weird nicknames for people who aren't called that. "Aaron Ramseeeeeeeeyo!" That's never happened, but I just shot with Ramsey so I figured that could be my hyperbolic example.

Anyone notice that hand balls are non existent even if they're turned on? I've had them on for more than a full season in manager mode and haven't seen one called

frick this game. I can't play one damn game of seasons without being matched up with someone all the way across the world with constant fricking lag and as soon as they kick off the damn ball they juke and spin and frick there way to a goal. Defending is shite in this game. I'm shite at this game.

I'm 10-23 in seasons. frick this game. Yes I'm mad.

Only good thing I'v done on this game is pack Sturridge and sell him for 40k.

Defending is hard in this game because your centerbacks are literally retarded.

The lag games are infuriating.. it always lags while I'm pressing a button and my guy will end up doing it a second later while i'm pressing a different way on the stick and then bam passed the ball out of bounds. over and over shite like that.

But I'm in Div 5 of single player seasons and div 8 of online seasons, if only I didn't have all this schoolwork..

Anyone else run a bundesliga squad? I'm doing a 4-3-3 (2). the one with a CDM. Not bad at all so far, I'm more of a work my way through the middle with passes player which nobody else online seems to do though. Anyhow because i'm procrastinating and bored here's my current lineup (with some EPL defenders/mids as subs if needed like Diaby, enrique, rangel, friedel)

ETA: Perisic should be starting with Stocker on the bench. because Stocker and Drmic go together (country) and Peri and Olic are on the same club. Not sure if it matters with them being 100 chem and all but I like to think it does.

Edit any suggestions of who I should save up for?

Why did you bring Green in on loan

Wanted more depth and didn't have much money left. He's only on 8 or 10 k a week.

Getting the hang of things now and the goals have been flowing freely. Almost to January. Gio Dos Santos and Kurt Zouma have been beasts. Gio is leading the league in scoring now. Zouma is a tank. Received lots of offers for Mirallas, Dos Santos, and Barkley. Coleman was homesick and decided to move to Spurs so he must be replaced. Begged for money to bring in Destro. Need better squad depth to become a legit title contender in the next few years. Contemplating selling Howard (Value of 11.5 mil pounds and in good form) due to his age (35). Similar situation with Eto'o. Any recommendations on young GKs that would be cheap? I'm also in the market for a replacement RB (I'm eyeing Chambers), another winger (Januzaj is not getting any better and doesn't play well IMO), and a playmaking CAM. Barkley has been TERRIBLE for me. Can't seem to put in a good performance no matter how hard I try. Open to any and all affordable suggestions. Don't like having to scout every single young player before making a decision (only have 10 days in transfer window left).

Edit: Forgot to mention I signed Grealish for 825k and sent him on loan. Looking to do the same with a few others. So feel free to suggest silvers that can be loaned as well as immediate first teamers.
