Loving this game. Defending is tougher, the defenders aren't as agile/reactive as last year. AI is actually making smart runs, and through balls are a lot better, they go where they're intended with the proper weight. +17 goal differential on FUT so far through 13 games. The 3-4-2-1 formation has been just lethal for me.

I somehow beat Tottenham in the FA Cup. I then lost to Walsall in the next round.

However, I saved enough in my budget to sign Bernard and this promising Argentine CB on contract expiry.

ETA: Goalkeepers are unbelievably terribad on manager mode. My guy and the guy across from me let in poorly hit near post finesse shots every game.

Okay how the frick do I change kit numbers in career mode? Because I just signed Asensio and it somehow gave him the #54 jersey while the #17 and #21 jerseys are completely unused and that's ridiculous. Fifa 18 fixed a lot of things but it also complicated a lot of things. The "squad hub" pisses me off.

Keepers aren't terrible online. Have noticed more one-on-ones with the keeper that were going in untouched last year are now hitting the keeper (some being saved, some still going in). Don't try to bang one home from the center of the box on a breakaway- it's getting saved if you don't have an angle. So far not much different from last year, if anything I'd say the keepers handling and positioning is noticeably improved. I'm scoring and giving up tons of goals, but not many cheap ones. That boils down to the attackers AI positioning (or maybe custom tactics/positioning rating/work rates actually matter this year?) being light years better.

I'm playing in a 3-4-2-1 on FUT. I have Dembele at right forward. 20 goals and 13 assists in 20 games.

I noticed the change kit number somewhere in the squad hub. Probably not much help lol

Ive found the 4-3-1-2 works the best this year. Ive got an Premier league and a Serie A and they both score tons of goals. I cant figure out what team I like more yet tho
Icardi Immoble
Callejon
Perisic Allan Joao Mario
Rodriguez Koubalily Howedes Liechsteiner

Giroud chicharito
Arnautovic
Klaasen Xhaka Fabregas
Baines Zouma Mustafi Trippier

I got Fabregas Perisic and Klaasen out of one of the preorder packs I got with the Icon edition. Easily the best pack Ive ever gotten

Noticed something cool. Bony scored a brace against me (City) and did the celebration where he puts his hands up and doesn't celebrate after both goals. Thought that was cool.

Any time I want to laugh I just go check Mendy's SoFIFA page. An absolute disgrace in the rating system.

Kieran Gibbs - 78 overall
Mendy - 78 overall

Anyone play with the 3 Liga teams yet?

I will eventually do a manager mode with Erfurt (wife’s hometown)

Hendo can get on the Wiesbaden tip

I went ahead and put Aberdeen in the Championship. Was tired of starting all the way at League 2. Too much time before you got to spend the cash.

I've been buying up younger players with short contracts (allowed me to get some deals). Sadly, the game tracked a lot of the summer transfer Aberdeen made without the really pumping up the transfer budget. I had zero depth to start with and I'm now having to jockey for loans to get 2nd string wingers and full backs.

An update for PC was pushed today. Not sure when it will go live on consoles. Here are some manager mode notes.

ETA: They also apparently buffed GK's and nerfed shooting accuracy.

I won’t have it until the 24th, hopefully lots of kinks are patched

Also how much is Dolberg costing people?

In 17 I had him at 87 when he was only 23 and never trained him.

He bagged over 100 goals in 2 season with Boca when I got him.

Now that the Bundesliga package is in, I'm gonna give that league a spin first in manager mode.

Probably St. Pauli again... they've got the best look of any lower-division team in the game. None of the 3. Liga teams really stand out to me.

I had him scouted/shortlisted. It said I would have to offer somewhere between 20-30 million pounds for him.
