See what you get the most of in your first few packs (you get a couple free and a couple for completing objectives)
Like mine I ended up with about 6-7 Serie A (75-79) players and a defense of 3 EPL (82,82,80) and an EPL keeper. So I just made my defense from the EPL and everything else from Serie A, got a Serie A manager and bam team of 76-82 with 95ish chemistry after 20ish matches played.

Do the online or offline tournaments help you more on getting packs/ coins?

Yeah definitely if you can hack a tournament with a pack bonus (they have weird entry requirements though..)
Play through the seasons rather than just random matches IMO. you get a huge bonus if you win or get promoted.

What I do. I can get through 1-2 seasons a day.

I usually try this experiment with a league 1 or league 2 team. Last year I did MK Dons and got them to a respectable top 6 squad in the EPL before I got bored. Then I went with Palermo.

finally got the game yesterday. played about 15 games and it's growing on me like i knew it would. i think it's gonna take about 30-40 games for me to fully embrace it, but that's what i was prepared for.
the 2 things that im taking the longest to adjust to are the change of direction and scoring. i relied on quick cuts and change of direction in previous FIFAs and it was crazy effective. it's possible to do in this FIFA but it's touger since it's slower so i have to stray from it a bit. right now, im scoring goals in the same way every time. gonna have to diversify my portfolio and figure out the other ways to score goals if i wanna be elite.
i play seasons wayyyy more than ultimate team because i like the real style of the game more than the arcade kinda bullshite, but i do enjoy that sometimes as well.

Ok so I ran into an issue I'm hoping one of you can help me with. I started playing FUT. I paid 10 dollars to get some gold packs and that went fine. I then decided to get the app on my phone so I could do transfers when I wasn't home. Come to find out my origins account wont link with my PSN account. When I log it it tells me I need to buy the game. I spend an hour and a half on chat with one of the game advisors and got no where. I think you can only have so many games or "personas" tied to each account and I already reached my limit.
I think my only option now is to start over with a new origins account which means starting over FUT and the packs I bought being gone.
Is there a way to log out of your origins account and log into another one?

Sell everything from those packs, then on the new account put up the cheapest thing possible and bid on it with the old account. All the money from the old account is now on the new one

You have it on your PS rght? Use your old account on the playstation, and your new created account on the PC/App

Kompany is insane in this game. He and Nastasic have 5 goals this season 8 games in.

I'm playing manager mode. He's absurd. Plays all over the field and if he gets to the ball, he's taking it. I can't remember ever having a defender this dominant in the previous games.

A lot of that is the FIFA "script" I like to call it. They put momentum into the programming so in the 45th/90th minutes, late in the game & down a goal, comebacks, just dominating hotstreaks, etc. situations, a goal is more likely to happen. That's where you get little fricking South Ameican players getting headers over freakin' Mats Hummels...
Part of the fun of the game though. If it was entirely predictable, the wins wouldn't be as fun...

For me, it's because it suits my style of play so well. I like a maestro kind of CAM--a la Sneijder (my favorite player).
I built my first Gold FUT on FIFA 13 with Sneijder as my core.
I like to have two Strikers so my attack can be balanced coming from both sides. Same with the LM/RM--balanced attack+defense with a CDM to help contain in the middle.
BVB is my favorite team, and my friend and I played online with them the most in 13. When I found out about the Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan transfers, I gave him a heads up about them. They have been/are going to be lights out for Borussia and I love them in FIFA 14.
They are permanent for me at ST and CAM. When I'm filled out, it should be something like: Aubameyang and Lewandowski up front; Mkhitaryan as CAM; Elia and Blaszczykowski at LM/RM; Van der Vaart or Luis Gustavo at CDM; Alaba, Hummels, Badstuber, and Piszczek at LB,CM's, and RB, respectively; then Neuer at goal.
