Ok, I'll tell the Sounders and the Timbers to get right on it.

Not sure you're quite aware what we're talking about here.

You know.. the gold cup? Which doesn't involve MLS teams?

Yes, but upkeep is not. Hence why all most fields in Europe, as well as fields in the NW that see lots of rain, are turf.

I thought most professional fields are grass?

I was under the impression that only a couple of European teams played on artificial surfaces. Lorient and another French team come to mind, but that's it.

Most teams use grass that may be reinforced by a little bit of synthetic stuff.

Sorry guys, meant to put that most PUBLIC fields in Europe are synthetic. Of course pro field aren't, except for Russia where apparently a lot of fields are synthetic due to the conditions.

Can someone explain to me why these fields cannot be brought in and laid down in top notch condition? How is this different than what the Arizona Cardinals do? I know they roll their field in etc, so it may be better, but honestly how can some place like Dallas F this up?

It's probably because they lay it down a few days ahead of time in the middle of the summer.

ETA: Season may not apply. Isn't Cowboy Stadium a dome?

The Cardinals' field is in one piece and it is on top of a mechanism that rolls the field outside to get sunshine and water. I don't know of another stadium in the country that has that.

The fact that players will likely go flying over that railing is a bit scary too.

Since it appears Jerry is trying to get every event known to man to be played in his house, why wasn't the surface made big enough to comfortably host a soccer match. You know it came up during planning.

It's not big enough, the sod hasn't set, and it's directly over concrete. Possibility for injury is high, but CONCACAF don't give a frick.

CONCACAF is corrupt and only cares about money. this is what happens when you let people from T&T and the cayman islands run your organization.

Keller said the field feels like landing on concrete. If Howard was keep, might even be able to score off the bounce.

Also playing surface should pretty much keep injury prone Stu Bear out of the lineup.

Finally JerryWorld isn't letting AO's bring in any banners/flag. drums are okay though

Right, I recognize this... I guess I'm confused at to why this type of set up was not employed at this otherwise impressive stadium... or why they dont have the capability in rare events to do something similar to ensure a stable surface.

Because cowboy stadium isn't a soccer facility. The cowboys have always played on turf..they probably didnt feel the need to look ahead for an acceptable alternative surface for a gold cup match.

Panama brought about 20 drummers to the Dome on Saturday. All those guys were partying hard.

Security at these events is a joke, so AO should just bring the flags in anyway (like, sneak them in) and then fly them anyway.

Never understood why they just don't play on the turf. I know I've never played at their level, but I have played on turf quite a bit and never had a problem.

even playing on the new age tech field truf has its problems, and decent indoor place has fields like that
