This season, they should still be fine and avoid relegation... last year would have been a totally different story...

The bigger story to me with this ruling is now the outcome of the investigations into City and Chelsea

Point deductions are ridiculous. Penalize them financially similar to United a couple of months ago.

City had to spend to catch up to offset structural limitations of soccer, but is the model franchise these days, along with Real.

Barca, United, and Chelsea are currently disgraces in terms of terrible spending and financial management.

Madrid has it made as they don't have to share TV profits with the rest of La Liga. The difference between them and Cadiz, Alaves, etc is monumental.

Lol... they spent to do a little more than that... They spent and spent and spent until they were at the absolute top of European soccer...

No doubt they now have great infrastructure and the right people in place...

We were supposed to get 12, so that’s a good sign, but we are still an absolute mess of a club.
We are broke, and we have no buyers that have passed the smell test.

Also, due to this verdict, all the relegated teams from last year are gonna (maybe rightfully) sue us. And that’ll further erode our limited financing, whether we are successful in defense or not.

What happened to the 777 Partners group?

They’re still involved, but something about one of their owners and a drug charge from like 15 yrs ago, plus some noise about not paying debts has halted things.

Tough time to be a Toffee.

Well supporters should be rallied at least.

It's an unprecedented and completely ad hoc decision which everyone knows won't carry over to the other pending investigations. It's blatantly tailored to relegating Everton and killing off prospects of a near term sale.

Of course scraping by again despite this will be quite a saga if it happens.

Don’t know about all that, but what’s interesting if you dig a lil deep is we lost $200 mil due to Russia invading Ukraine. Some Russian guy/co (forget name) was going to pay us that for naming rights to the stadium.
Had that gone through, we wouldn’t be here.

This happened between Sheffield and WHU. Their case and Everton’s case aren’t similar other than financial shenanigans but WHU had to pay $20 million.

Clubs are not franchises, that’s a completely different sporting concept

Watching you go to bat defending City while wanting to put Barca at the stake is peak hypocrisy

Yes United have spent terrible but that’s what happens when you don’t have football people in the positions they need to be in. At the end of the day United is spending money generated by the club. All while the owners take dividends out the club and spend nothing on the club infrastructure

Also FFP is actually being enforced on traditional powers like United and Juve even though you swore that would never happen

That and they made plenty of mistakes pissing money away along the way

They were able to sell players who were flops the next season and eat the loss while everyone else couldn’t

It took the cheating and breaking the rules with one of the best managers ever to get to the point.
