Euro Q-Finals: Why S-S-M and not F-S-S?

Maybe I don't get it because I'm American.
I get why you'd put your quarterfinals on the Weekends where nobody works. But why would the third day be on Monday, where I have to work the next day (Tuesday) instead of Friday (where frick it, tomorrow is the weekend)?

Last group games were Wednesday, the Q finals mix up the groups pretty severely. They wanted to give enough rest to the last groups playing (possibly up to 6 teams that advance to the Q finals when they schedule this thing up) so that they don't haver to play on Friday after playing on Wednesday.
