Clint Dempsey ties Landon Donovan's all-time USMNT goals record

The last paragraph of this article that's about Dempsey tying Donovan's record

quote:

Abby Wambach scored 184 goals in 255 caps for the U.S. women's national team, the most by any player -- man or woman -- in FIFA history. Dempsey and Donovan would be tied for 10th on the USWNT all-time scoring list.

Lolz. Soccer is the top sport for women in this country, or possibly second. For men, not so much. It's the opposite across the world.

But I thought we weren't supposed to compare men's and women's sports together, or is that just for tennis?

Do they count the goals scored when the U14 team plays the women?

ESPN also thinks people care about the WNBA, so...

I'm glad the US women are good and all that, but let's keep things in perspective. They lost badly to the FC Dallas U15 academy kids.

I would also argue the USWNT has underachieved by only winning 3 of 7 World Cups despite having a massive advantage in this sport over every other country.
