And Adu can?

Not wanting the Aryan btw. CD9 should go.

Nope, but he can look pretty dancing around the ball. I'm down with a visual show without goals instead of a cave man ogre without goals.

People, Charlie CANNOT get called in unless Sochaux clear him. Which they won't.

It's probably Casey or no one.

I think we all realize this. Most of the CD9 is in jest. Everyone realizes if he didn't make the 30 he's not going to make it as a replacement.

How long does Bradley have to name a replacement after an injury, though? Sochaux didn't clear Davies to attend the camp, but if they clear him to play in a match for their side between now and the start of the camp would that mean that Bradley would have the potential ability to select Davies to the camp?

I heard a rumor they were thinking about including him in their 18 for Auxerre on the 15th. Can anyone confirm this? I would assume if he wasn't cleared yesterday he won't be cleared for 2 days from now though.

was he chasing a ball he had played way too far ahead of himself?

Dude you are setting yourself up for a huge disappointment, Davies' world cup dream ended with the initial 30 man roster.

He is the best or second best US striker and if he wasn't even named to the 30 man, then there is something wrong. Nothing has changed in a day other than Eddie going down. Connor Casey is now probably going to get an invite but he likely won't make the team due to poor form lately.

People just don't appreciate Freddy. I'm not talking about crossovers, either. His through-balls, crosses, first-touch, free kicks, etc. Maybe I'm just imagining that he was always the most talented player on the field in the youth matches.
I know I know. He didn't score for Aris or Benfica.

Ives was told by someone connected to Eddie that he suffered a mild hamstring tweak and was removed as a precaution.

The lack of medical clearance was why Charlie Davies was not named to the 30 man training roster. If a player on the 30 man roster is injured after the deadline, another player can be called up to replace him.

If Sochaux were to medically clear Davies to play for them, he'd be elligible to be called into training. The question is: how long after an injury to a player on the 30 man training roster does Bob Bradley have to call up a replacement player to the training roster?

If the replacement doesn't have to be named immediately, there's a little bit of time to see if Sochaux will clear Davies to play for them (which would, in turn, make him elligible to be called into training). If the replacment does have to be named quickly, Davies is still le screwed.

It's not rocket surgery.

The 23 man roster has to be submitted by June 1. The 23 names HAVE to come from the list of 30 submitted yesterday. So, if the name isn't in the list of 30, he won't be named to the 23 man roster. No Davies, no Adu, no Casey.

Between June 1 and June 11 (start of the World Cup) if a member of your 23 gets hurt, you can replace him with any eligible player, not just those on the preliminary (30 man) roster.

What I don't know is if FIFA has any kind of review as to the legitimacy of an "injury."

If Bob were to name an already injured Eddie Johnson to the squad, and then try to replace him with Davies (or anyone else), he may end up getting stuck with him. Don't know how that works with FIFA, honestly.

I would imagine there is a good bit of leeway, though. "We did every thing we could, up to the last day to get him healthy before the Cup, but just couldn't."

I think more than anything it throws the door WIDE open for both Buddle AND Gomez. I think Findley was brought in solely to push Johnson.

Thanks for the clarification. I was mistaken about at which point an injury would allow a replacement.

The question about the legitimacy of an injury issue is an interesting one to ponder, though.
