Also, Bohdan Butko who was on loan at Amkar Perm last year, is back with Shakhtar and looks like he will get significant playing time this year. He was on Ukraine's Euro squad.

So I'm wondering how much Spartak could get for Quincey Promes. Dude has scored 31 goals the last 2 seasons and is only 24. He's by far Spartak's best player. They don't have to sell, but he's real good.

Tornike Okriashvili is a Georgian player I'd love to see in Russia. It's a natural transition, as guys like Revishvili, Ananidze, and Kvirkvelia have all made the jump in recent years.

If I were to fill up a team in FIFA with only Eastern European players, which team should I choose and which players should I target

Akinfeev in goal

Srna, Rakitskiy, V. Berezutiskiy, Ignashevich, Glik

Samedov, Modric, Brozovic, Perisic

Dzyuba, Kokorin, Lewandowski

Guys like Mhkhitaryan aren't really Eastern Euro

That's off the top of my head as far as FIFA rankings, which I don't always agree with, and I'm drunk

Odil Akhmedov is a badass Uzbek

He starts off 76, declines pretty quick for some reason

He plays for FC Krasnodar

Uzbeks aren't Eastern Euros either obviously, but he's real good (my arguments with FIFA rankings)

Some things...

Dynamo Kyiv beat Shakhtar Donetsk yesterday in penalties to win the Ukrainian Super Cup

Zenit sell Cristian Ansaldi to Inter for €4M

Ruben Rochina from Granada to Rubin Kazan for €10M, also Rubin is on the verge of signing Alex Song according to rumours, oh an Marko Livaja left on a free to Las Palmas

Former Shakhtar player Fernando returns to Eastern Europe, leaving Sampdoria for Spartak Moscow on a €13M fee

Monaco have loaned Lacina Traore to CSKA Moscow

Bordeaux loan Cedric Yambere to Anzhi

I knew I forgot something, Pontus Wernbloom of CSKA retired from international duty at 30. Strange decision.

Ukrainian Premier League starts tomorrow!

Shakhtar's away kit was released:

In Russia...

CSKA's new kits:

Kerzhakov signed a new deal with Zenit which isn't that weird, but he was loaned out to Zurich last year. Wondering how much he plays. Also, Di Marzio says Zenit is signing midfielder Giuliano from Gremio for €7 million, and Izvestia says Pavel Mamaev will be a Zenit player...ironic since it was Mamaev and Kokorin who were punished for the nightclub incident. Krasnodar has already signed Marat Izmailov, so it seems likely.

Rubin Kazan has been banned from further moves due to unpaid wages to former players...right after signing Alex Song

Russian National Team coach is down to Stanislav Cherchesov and Kurban Berdyev.

No Hamsik, Pjanic, Yarmolenko, Matic, Jovetic?? I like Akinfeev but I would still personally take Cech and Begovic over him.

Oh and I would take Weiss over Perisic but thats just me.

Replace Samedov, Kokorin, and Brozovic with Pjanic, Jovetic, and Hamsik.

I was hammered when I made that initial list. Obviously forgot a few people.

The others could go either way.
