I can understand the dislike for him because he's been a hot head and been a rival his whole career, but I don't mind him. He'd definitely be able to play a role and he's versatile too. I'd like to have him as long as we don't overpay.

Of course Chelsea's money doesn't matter to me personally. If we were to pay much more than he's rated for, there's the potential that he flops, ala Torres, and is then retained not because of his current value to the team but because he was rated too highly to begin with and can't be unloaded for anywhere close to his original cost. I'm slightly worried that his best years could be behind him.
You wanted me to say that we're ruining modern football because our Russian billionaire owner regularly overpays for transfers, thus contributing to the inflation of transfer fees and increasing the disparity between large and small clubs, didn't you?

Anyone been keeping up with the preseason? KdB went back to London for an MRI. Hopefully nothing serious. I'll be watching the boys next Thursday in Indy against Inter. I guess the Confed Cup guys will see some action as they will be heading back to training.

Yeah, I am glad to see guys like Wallace and Bertrand Traoré getting playing time with the first team. Also Nathaniel Chalobah, even though he has been playing CB, which could mean either A) Jose wants to move him back there, or B) he is playing there because we only have 3 other CBs in Asia, not counting Branislav who has been playing LB. Hopefully Chalobah doesn't go on loan, he could help out in the midfield this season imo.

Jose pretty much said that if they thought they could get him a visa that he'd be tough to not put into the senior squad this coming season. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they can get him in this year.

Well, he isn't a Chelsea player as he's just on trial. He turns 18 in September, I think. He seems to do a good job. Jose said he planned on signing him on his 18th birthday.

I'm jelly. I'm ready to finally be able to watch a game. I haven't seen a live Chelsea match since late May.
