I mean we hadn't beaten them in like 6 matches of any kind before that, after our 2nd place treble last season I think it was somewhat of a psychological barrier we broke through. The match itself was nothing special, but we played our starters vs their starters so I think it gave the guys some belief. Most of them had another pretty big let down in the Euros that summer as well.

Me too but honestly August 9th is not very far away at all. This summer break has been pretty awesome, lots of action and new things happening. Neuer and Boatengs nemesis is first on the schedule. I'm actually quite nervous about that, we typically play like dog shite against Gladbach

I've been trying to figure out how much Schweiny and Götze have been training. I'd like to see them play at least a little against Dortmund

I'm almost positive Götze hasn't trained at all yet. I don't think he's playing against Barca or Dortmund. All the Confed cup guys just showed up. Did you see the montage of Thiagos first day at the Sabener Straße?

I saw a couple of pictures posted by Bayern Munich but I have not seen the montage.

Mario Gomez : "From a sporting perspective, last season was my best one ever. I was no longer a starter, but whenever called upon I performed and helped the team. I accomplished that for the first time and it has been the biggest step in my career so far.I said to Karl-Heinz Rummenigge I will always be greatful to the club for making my biggest dream come true, to win the Champions League. The wish of the Front Office to sign Lewandowski became more intense, I wasn't the only one who noticed that. That annoyed me and the current strikers didn't receive backing from the club.During the course of the second half of the season it became clear that all parties want to end this in the summer. On the first day I went to Guardiola and said 'coach, let's face it. The decision for me to leave the club has been made. I would like not to participate in friendlies. I said goodbye with a goal from my last touch in the Cup final, that was beautiful'.He fulfilled my wish and I am very grateful to him. He also promised me we would work well together if I ended up staying. He's a great guy and a big coach. The way he speaks to the team is impressive. He's so humble and full of joy and yet he's the best coach in the world. He openly admitted that his philosophy is to play with small, mobile players. However, he wants to adjust to the strengths of the club and its tall strikers. He left the decision to me.I always knew that if I moved, I would go to Italy or Spain. I didn't want to go to a club of similar size despite the interest of some top 5 clubs. Then I could have just stayed at Bayern. Bayern has been and still is my dream club."
