No. I played in the youth world cup in Gothenburg(US spelling) and represented the state that I am from. I am not from Alabama, btw.

So you're saying you played in Europe, but not professionally? I did that too.

And what do you mean you represented the state that you were from? Was it like a tournament with US state champions in it?

Whatever Bradley was meant to have been this World Cup, he certainly was not. I tried to defend him at every turn, but eventually his mistakes were more than I could bear.

He didn't just play below expectations (which, admittedly, were very high). He played poorly.

Yes. I played in the Youth World Cup in Gothenburg Sweden which is tournament of the best youth players in the world. Several players I played with are currently in the MLS.

Sounds a lot like Dallas Cup

Yes but I played in Europe for a summer. I love how everyone down voted me though... lol

Well you did make it sound like you played professionally in Europe.

Didnt realize I did that... Apologies.

No problem it's just what I assumed. I got to play in 2 Dallas Cups and my team went to Europe and trained at the Man U academy for a month one summer. I was stupid and left the team right before they did that. Huge mistake.

I wish I took it more seriously then... if that makes sense....

I'm in the same boat here. It's really hard to take anything seriously when you're 14 or 15 years old. I thought I'd be playing ball until I couldn't anymore back then and I missed some really good opportunities because of it.

I thought Bradley actually looked OK today. Certainly didnt make as many dumb mistakes as the previous 3 games. But no way he should have been asked to be the playmaker out there. Thats what Landon Donovan should have been doing. But I wont get into that..

Anyways its sucks to think that arguably our two best players in this tournament probably wont suit up for us in the next World Cup...Jones and Howard.

He's a solid box to box midfielder, but he isn't talented or creative enough to be the "10". I don't think Klinsmann really expected him to be, but he was the best option. I really think that Dempsey would have taken on more of that role if Jozy hadn't gone down. At least in the final third.

Absolutely this. Altidore going down didn't alter where Bradley was playing in the formation, but it drastically changed what the pieces around him were doing. With Altidore as the lone striker, Dempsey (even when listed as a wide midfielder or the second forward) roams the spaces just behind Jozy. At the end of the game today with so many numbers forward, he did that and picked up the ball between their midfielders and defenders twice in 15 minutes. Both times created good chances. If he could have played that role for the whole tournament, the team would have looked MUCH better.
