Ill go a little contrary to the thread and say Spain is really close to number 1. They are certainly the best national team I have ever seen. They have basically the best 9 or so guys possible and then like soldado and Pedro which is still amazing. I don't get how a team like Chelsea can be better when their best player comes off Spain's bench.

Chemistry and things like that. I'm not really sure who I think are the 5 best teams in the world, Spain is obviously pretty good though.

There are about five clubs better than Spain.

The chemistry argument doesn't work for me either with this Spain team just bc how different they are than most national teams ever. There has been so little turnover for like 6 years now. They have played together for fricking ever and a ton have fantastic chemistry from club as well (2 dudes particularly come to mind). I think Spain would be my only country in a top xx teams list and it'd be tough not putting them very very high.

That's pretty much what I was getting at, why mess with something that isn't broken? I wasn't commenting on Spain's lack of chemistry as to why they aren't the best team in the world, simply that their current chemistry works better without Mata. Or at least that's gotta be what Vincent of the Forest feels like since Mata doesn't play that much.
