You're kidding right? He's scored a career high in the PL (11) this season so far and has also added three assists. He's probably been City's best player this year in the league.
Im speaking specifically to his influence over games. His goals have been very good this year but he's always been able to send the decisive pass to cut the defense open. He had 9 assists last year and I guess my perception is rooted in that commanding effect he can have on the midfield. He just seemed not to be that terrifying threat to cut you open that he had last year.

If anyone from City has sucked a dick this year it's Toure.
Again, please read my clarification in the previous post. I never remotely came to the point where I said he sucked. He's been very good, I just never got the impression that his chance creation is as good as it was last year. I'd like to find the statistics on chances created to see, as I could very well be wrong about that. I'm never afraid to admit I'm wrong, especially in situations like this where I'm basing my feeling on an eyeball test.

If United happen to qualify for top 4, it will have come off the back of some huge performances from our GK. I would argue that David De Gea should be in the top 10 performers of this season.
That's a great point. He's been the best keeper this year by a country mile, in my opinion.

Hazard's an animal. I enjoy watching him play, and that's saying something with my feelings towards Chelsea.

Hazard has been incredible. Chelsea has struggled, but he looks dangerous every game. He's pulling the strings and he seems to be at the center of every good move as of late.

Yep. Coquelin is better than Matic. Really wish we had him anchoring our midfield instead.
He's been better than him since he's been starting, so that kind of makes sense, but I do think you're being a bit over-reactionary. Matic is a fine player.

I don't think this word means what you think it means

Yeah I totally get what you're saying, but prepare your anus for the fanboys and their fury.

BleedPurple,
I can understand why someone could say what you're saying about Silva. Idk, how many of City's PL games you've watched this year, but I've watched roughly 25 our of their 30 matches this year and I will say there have been times where Silva seems to "disappear". I haven't seen a stat on his chances created, but I'd assume they are about the same as they were in previous years.
Depending on the opponent, Silva, to my eyes, has dominated the midfield against most lower level teams, like he should. I personally think he's had his best season ever in a City shirt, but that's just me.

Well I'm sure you've watched much more City games than I have so I'll defer to your opinion. I was shaky on even bringing it up because, like I've said, he's still been very good in the games I've seen. Just a gut feeling I've been having, but I haven't watched anywhere near 25 of their games so I'm sure I'm just mistaken.

Like I said though, he has disappeared in several matches, especially some of the bigger ones so you aren't wrong. I've always like him too, so I may be a bit biased.

He's one of my favorite players. Rafa was in for him before he went to City and I knew we'd rue the day the owners told the manager no on the transfer. Christ he would be unreal in BR's system.

I agree with you on David Silva. He hasn't seemed quite as brilliant this year. He's one of my favorite players on the planet because of his ability to receive a routine pass and quickly play a threatening and unpredictable ball that puts the defenses on its heels. He has done that less this year in my opinion.

I think my favorite part of Silva's game is how well he shields the ball. I feel like the only way you get it from him is by fouling him.
Posted on 3/26/15 at 3:13 pm to jackwoods4
The funny thing is that I don't even think about that skill because he brings so much to the table. Where as with Mousa Dembele, I always think about it because it's the only thing he brings.

No I didn't, I was turning it around you, you Chelsea punk.

Yup. He's a damn magician with the ball at his feet. I think his dip in form this year is just due to the rest of the midfield being meh. Nasri has been very mediocre. I'm rapidly starting to not like Toure. Milner has been solid. Fernando and Fernandinho have been pedestrian. In years past he has at least had Toure to make some magic with.

--The midfield has been meh.
--Toure was absent for more than a month, allowing defenders to spend a bit more time on Silva.
--For a few week stretch, Silva was really the only healthy "striker" City had and could rely upon, even though he's a creative mid.
Silva really has not had a chance to be Silva this year.
Not to mention, Dzeko has disappeared, Kompany has gone from one of the best in the world to, um, not the best in the world , Zabaleta is not as good as he was last year.
But, along with Joe Hart, Silva is clearly City's best player this year (IMO).
