Maybe Nasri will be convinced to stay. He's losing a large amount of money by not signing this year. If he's on 50k a week, and could be on 100k (or whatever our offer is) or 150k (whatever Man City's offer is) then he should push for a move now. It doesn't make sense in his position to wait it out. He would be losing out on at least 3 million pounds this year by waiting. My theory is that he wants to see what happens with Fabregas first. Then he's going to see if he is going to be played centrally.

I'd rather he never play centrally because the impetus for create moves further back in the pitch on basically Wilshere, and he doesn't have the consistent final ball that would allow us to play that way. Basically I don't want this team built around Nasri. He's a great player, but he's not the visionary player we need there like Bergkamp and Fabregas.

Walcott sent back to London for an MRI on his ankle. Possibly in doubt for the opener.

And so it begins. Seriously, frick ME.

That'd be big. Crowded on the wings though. Gervinho, Nasri, Walcott, Arshavin, Mata, Miyachi (hopefully). That depth is certainly better than having to throw Bendtner out there.

Yeah I keep seeing on twitter that Mata would replace Nasri on the wings and Nasri would shift centrally after Cesc exits. Although all of these moves seem fairly speculative at this point, this arrangement would make sense I suppose.

I still don't see how Arshavin, Denilson, Almunia, and Squillaci haven't been moved yet. Now that we have Gervinho, Bendtner should probably be on that list too.

Word is he's very close to moving to Sporting Lisbon.

Arshavin

I don't want him sold. As frustrating as he can be, he was still 2nd on our squad in goals + assists last season. Still a very useful player.

I agree here. Sure he had some lulls, but I really like his attacking prowess. There were plenty of times when he was the only one on the pitch looking to attack the goal last year.

Part of it is how many damn chances he creates. I mean in reality, the only reason we get pissed off at him is because it seems like he wastes 4 out of every 5 good chances he gets to score or set someone up. Yet he still ends the year with 10 goals and 18 assists.

If he wasn't so wasteful, he'd have seasons like he did his 2007 season at Zenit every year. He gets into good positions regularly. Then again, so does Bendtner. The Burnley game from 09/10 and maybe the Blackburn game from that year highlight still piss me off, and highlight why Bendtner is leaving and Arshavin is staying.

I'm not believing that we get Mata until we actually do. He'd be another wide player that we haven't had in years. And we'd keep him for some time because Madrid and Barcelona are absolutely stacked at the front positions.

If Cesc leaves, we have to make our front three a lot more fluid, and perhaps not rely on our midfield to score as many goals.

Figured I'd keep transfer news here.

It seems Joel Campbell might have actually signed for real. I like him for the future.

Also Mata apparently telling people he's going to Arsenal.

This is a pretty historic thread that we should only leave once we play Newcastle.

As for those transfers, I'll only believe it when I see something official. I don't want to get my hopes up.

Now Wenger saying Lansbury is staying at club and fits into first team plans. Presumably, this is because Abou Diaby has vaginas for ankles.
