Interesting thing I read today...
Ian Wright debuted against Leicester
Thierry Henry debuted against Leicester
Now Lacazette will debut against Leicester...
Let's hope that's a sign.

Anyways, I think this is a terrific signing!! I think honestly if we can get Lemar and maybe another CM we've had one of the best windows in the league.
I've sort of resigned to losing Alexis, and if the £400k a week reports are true then get him out. No one currently in England is worth that amount. Spend the money on Lemar

Oh youre right my man. Arsenal hasn't needed a striker.

Arsene has had his eye on lacazette for 10 years. He's also known to bid ludicrously low on players. The bid was for £29m btw. Just got him for £52m after add ons.

I don't play Madden.

I've also followed Arsenal since 1997 jabroni.

Pegame puta!

No shite. € = euros moran. And when you come on here and say we should have signed him for half value last year don't act surprised when the driveMAN calls you out for being full of shite. Lyon wanted 50M+ for him last summer.

Try learning the diff between Sterling pound and the euro before you act like a smart arse.

The point remains the same. Arsene balked at the price and ended up spending €60m on him. Im still pissed we are playing on Thursdays.

I agree with your take on Alexis.... No way in hell we should pay him £400K a week. Lemar would be a fine replacement anyways and if we brought in say Mahrez on the right along with resigning Ozil we would be in great shape still.

Alexis pretty made himself too much for us and over valued himself. I think we need another "young Cazorla" before getting a winger to replace Alexis since Cazorla's injury is worse than any of us thought.

Our number one priority should be to replace Alexis if he leaves(which looks more and more likely). That is why we are going after Lemar and to a lesser extent Mahrez. I totally agree that we need to replace Santi but we have Ramsey and Ox to help out. For that reason Alexis' replacement is a higher priority. The only other left winger/forward we have is Iwobi and possibly Welbeck in a pinch. Walcott plays almost strictly on the right. Ozil prefers the right also.

Just wanted to bring up the recent news that Jens Lehmann has been appointed as a first team coach and Mertesacker will be named head of the academy next season. This looks like the beginning of our transition away from Wenger. I think Lehmann will bring accountability and mental strength to the team. I also think Per should make a good head of the academy. He gets tremendous respect from the rest of the squad and seems to like to provide the younger squad members with guidance. Hopefully we look to continue our transformation as a club.

Hopefully we can get Vieira and Henry into some roles as well. Would love to see one of them replace Wenger in the future.

I say sell Alexis to China for shoot load of money and where he doesn't help our rivals... Then use the money to buy Lemar, Mahrez and a class midfielder.

I don't want to sell a rival but he just did reject a 2 yr 300k/wk deal. I also saw that Arsenal slapped a £80m price tag on Alexis. If anyone is dumb enough to bite...let them have it. Honestly this crap Alexis has done I don't want him in an Arsenal shirt again. That money can easily replace him with Lemar and grab another CM if Chambo wants to be a prick.

Put another bid in for Lemar. I'd be ok selling Alexis as long as we sign others. In years past we've waited a while to do business, so it seems they've had a plan in case he does go.

Sell him and a few others. You have plenty of money to bring lemar and mahrez in.

You still have Giroud, Perez, Ox, Gibbs that could be moving on that could net you some cash.

Alexis hasn't done anything disrespectful yet. He hasn't put pressure on Arsenal to sell him either. Just because he wants to leave doesn't make him a villain. If he tries to push a move to City then yea he should be criticized. And under no circumstance should we sell to City.

If Ox wants to leave too that doesn't make him a prick. He wants game time. Arsenal put themselves in this position by not offering Ox, among others, an extension sooner. We have Gibbs, Wilshere, Szczeny, Ox, Alexis, and Ozil all in their last season. So the guys we want to extend are in a great position to negotiate a huge contract and the guys we want to sell are worth a fraction of what we could get for them. Club screwed around and it's biting them in the arse.

I agree. I have peace of mind about it because we made him a damn strong offer and he rejected it.

Yes, ship him off to the Chinese leagues. I'd be happy with a 50M fee, since it means he's out of the PL and out of UEFA.

Wouldn't Alexis and the Chinese club have to come to some sort of agreement before they would agree to pay us anything. We wouldn't be able to just give him to anyone if he doesn't want to go.

There were notable absentees from the touring squad with available players likes of Kieran Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy, Wojciech Szczesny, Lucas Perez and Carl Jenkinson all left at home. It looks increasingly likely that all five will be playing their football elsewhere this season.
