Giroud is so integral to what we are doing right now. He has to stay fit. If not we would need to change formations and a lot of what we are doing from a tactical perspective.

He is playing so well.

yeah, i don't disagree. he's played very well. but i do kinda agree with Beast on one part. if we had a more athletic striker up front, say Suarez for example, i think we would be very, very dangerous. it would come closer to maximizing Ozil's traits if we had more athleticism up top, though i think Theo's reintroduction will help there.

It would just change the way we would play. Wenger coul;d surely adapt to having Suarez as his striker.

Theo is going to really help. Our counter attack is going to be fun to watch.

While true, more often than not we will encounter teams who will bunker, where Giroud is more useful. Very few teams will give Theo and Ozil the space to operate. At the same time we could be absolutely awesome on the break like we saw in the Sunderland game.

This partnership is key in big matchups against other squads who will actually run at us is the thing.

our "tekkers" lineup is better against the small squads though.

Against teams lowers in the table or who bunker front 5.

------Giroud------
Cazorla-Ozil-Jack*
---Arteta-Ramsey---
*Rosicky and Theo both work here, especially as subs.
Against top teams who run at us I'd rather

-------Giroud------
Cazorla*-Ozil--Theo
---Flamini-Ramsey--
*sub on Poldi for whomever of those 3 look worse

i dont think this guy knows how imp giroud has been for us. How many times he as kept possession for Arsenal is amazing. He is not a goal scorer like other strikers, but his touch is amazing. He's strong in the air and has gotten better at finishing. His runs when he doesnt have the ball are top notch. This dude is a player and will continue to thrive at Arsenal, especially with the supporting cast we have in midfield.

I think giroud as answered any questions anyone had about him after his first season in the epl.

First half season. He was really good after January, just like Ramsey. Trust in Arsene to stick behind his players who actually want to be at the club. I really love this team.

Looks like no Wilshere and no Gibbs for tomorrow.

It is unreal how this shite always happens.

Bigger drop off:

Monreal for Gibbs
Jenko for Sanga

easily Jenks for Baccy.

Gibbo has been great. clearly better than Monreal, but Monreal is still a solid option out there. i am legitimately concerned whenever jenks in on the pitch.

Oh please. Last year when he deputized for Baccy he played extremely well. Hell this year when Baccy was at CB during the Fulham, Sunderland, and Tottenham games Jenks played well. He played poorly in subsequent appearances, but he's going to be a damn fine RB.

ETA: Baccy was out for the Tottenham game. Forgot about that.

clearly, i'm overreacting from the Carling Cup match in the concern part. i should be more fair because of his rust. i do thing he's quite a bit more average than anyone else on this board though. wasn't as impressed as anyone else last year, and this year (preseason, limited appearances so can't make *too* much of it) he's been worse. i don't think he'll ever be great, but he'll probably turn out alright.
