Hiddink isn't walking through that door.

Hyndman has some holding MF potential beyond WC2018 - his biggest issue is size. He needs to bulk up now or have a late growth spurt.

And then he failed to get them to the WC after getting to the playoff against Slovenia. And Euro 2008 was only impressive because of the Netherlands victory. That same Russian team got spanked by Spain twice.

Russia has lots of good young players who will be ready in 2018

Sure. They will be ready to send diagonal balls over the heads of their fullbacks and will be ready to be afraid to send a ten yard pass into midfield. I can't wait to see it.

You do realize the Berezutskiys and Ignashevich, the players you're shitting on, won't be there?

So what the frick do you know

You realize I don't give a frick, right?

Again, the organizational structure was poor. That can change with a good coach, but Russia's ceiling right now is barely making it out of the knockouts like other hosts and then losing to a superior team.

You seem to give a frick.

And Slutsky is fired.

Don't make judgements until you know who is the next boss.

Plus, you just passed off Dzagoev and Cheryshev like they have no impact.

They probably won't have an impact. Russia has never made it past the group stage in the WC since the Soviet Union dissolved. They haven't won a game at any tournament since beating the Czechs in 2012. And you expect me to believe that somehow one coach is going to overhaul that in two years?

And then you say I shouldn't make judgments when you come into a thread about the USMNT with your same shtick, which is weird because the Russians looked far worse than the US has.

I hear Jurgen Klinsmann is a good managerial candidate for any opening.

Russia would beat the US if we're just talking head to head now

IF WE're talking history, Russia won Euro 1960 like I said

Only if you do. I seriously doubt Russia would be able to break down teams in the low-block set. They are a terrible team.

Wow, so since 1991?

Actually, the USSR fell apart on December 25, 1991. And Ukraine was the last to leave.

What has the US done in that time span?

Made it to more knockout rounds than independent Russia has been to the WC.
