AFCON is a strange tournament. It effectively features talented Africans who have emigrated because of their exceptional talents, returning to their represent their corrupt homelands.

Without fail, every tournament there is one national team that threatens to protest, because of unpaid international bonuses. It's essentially an allegory for every talented African wanting to return to his country to do good, but he/she gets cratered by corrupt officials and poor infrastructure.
