Just study what Chelsea has done to get teams to pay the fees they did for unwanted players.
Also, look at Southampton.

the value of their contracts?, or of the player
Think the player. Notes are on F-18, F-19
Unrelated, under impairment:
quote:
Whilst no individual player can be separated from the single cash generating unit ("CGU"), being the operations of the Group as a whole, there may be certain circumstances where a player is taken out of the CGU, when it becomes clear that they will not play for the club's first team again, for example, a player sustaining a career threatening injury or is permanently removed from the first team squad for another reason. If such circumstances were to arise, the carrying value of the player would be assessed against the Group's best estimate of the player's fair value less any costs to sell.
Wonder when they wrote Anderson's fat arse off

Hey, be polite. Hes a 'big bottom small'
I wonder where they are getting their fair value from...
I can see either way except how do they cost home grown players, Mcnair and such, that they didn't pay to acquire. Thats why my first thought was contracts

I think just costs associated w/negotiations. There's a pretty large difference b/w proceeds and book value. Will be easier to tell in 2015 w/Welbeck
