Though he has yet to sit down with Florentino Pérez or José Ángel Sánchez, word has reached Carlo Ancelotti's camp that the coach won't be kept on at Real Madrid.

The Italian tactician has taken the news in his stride, accepting that this is how the cookie crumbles in the football business. He won't put up any resistance when it comes to rescinding the year left on his contract and his only regret is at not being able to finish the job he started two seasons ago.

The Bernabéu will get the chance to bid farewell to the manager who delivered 'La Décima' during the game against Getafe, albeit Ancelotti will be in a box rather than the dugout because of his touchline ban. The former Reggiana, Parma, Juventus, Milan, Chelsea and PSG boss expects to be personally informed about his fate by the club president either after the match or on Sunday.

No firm decision has been reached about Ancelotti's replacement. Rafa Benítez remains the frontrunner but Florentino isn't completely sold yet and will take a close interest in the crowd's reactions during the Getafe encounter.

Also PSG offering 125 million euro for CR7

CR7 probably isn't the smartest man in the world but I don't think he is dumb enough to bury himself at PSG.....if he leaves Madrid it will be to ManU....and it won't be this year.

Jackson Martinez to Arsenal looks like a done deal for 25 million

I'd think Arsenal fans would be thrilled about this?

I'm actually thrilled about Martinez. Funny enough, in my fifa career Arsenal bought Martinez and just started wrecking shite.

If you guys can find an improved CB and a GK you should actually contend next year.

We should. I'm not sure what level Gabriel is at, so CB cover may or may not be necessary. I would feel really great if we got a better GK and Schniederlin, but I don't think the GK happens.

Isn't Jackson 28 or 29? Seems like a high fee for a guy on the backend of his prime.

Not if you think he is the missing link to winning the league when you haven't done so in over a decade.

Forgoing this kind of signing for promising youth is exactly what has kept them from doing so for so long.

Carlo Ancelotti commands an absolute majority among members and has strong backing from Real Madrid supporters.

This is the main conclusion from the survey carried out by Sigma Dos for MARCA among Real Madrid members, and which is squarely at odds with the club's intentions to sack him.

To the unconditional support the Italian has received from the squad can now be added that of the Whites' members. The situation casts serious doubts on Florentino Pérez and the board's decision to change managers for next season.

Of the three powers surrounding Real Madrid, two are on Ancelotti's side, the squad and the supporters, leaving only the club itself wanting a new face in the dugout.

The figure arising from the survey is overwhelming: 73% of the members consulted think that Carlo Ancelotti should continue as manager of Real Madrid, whilst only 24.1% are of the opinion that the club would do well to sack him and look for a new resident in the Whites' dugout. The remaining 2.9% are either unsure or did not answer the question.

Despite a lean year, Ancelotti is strongly backed by supporters wanting him to continue at the Real Madrid helm.

How is Carlo Ancelotti's management of Real Madrid rated?

On a scale of 0-10, the Italian manager scored 6.95, which could be regarded as close to a merit. It is possible that the manager's rating may have dropped considerably compared to what he might have been given at the end of 2014 after winning Real Madrid's fourth Club World Cup. However, despite not winning the Copa del Rey, La Liga or the Champions League, he still receives a good score.

@TheSwanseaWay: Breaking: Swansea City & Bournemouth have both offered deals to Everton's England U21 left-back Luke Garbutt, out of contract in the summer.

Apparently a steal if we can get him on a free. Someone to push Taylor and provide depth at LB.

Rafa is certainly a good manager but he underwhelmed at Napoli more than Carlo at Real the past two seasons.

Rafa was ok at Napoli but they had the roster to do better and actually had done better the previous few seasons under Mazzarri.

He's certainly a top manager with a strong resume but my point is simply that he's far from a "hot" name you have to jump on.

Is this just a matter of the board feeling they have to "do something"?
