yeah, luckily they can only play so many at a time, but they do have depth... although, that hasnt helped them score from open play so far...

You're right. I've seen him play maybe twice. But I've seen Lamela a lot and he's a very good player. Plus he netted 15 times in Serie A last season. An actual goal scorer compared to Willian's production.

And let's be clear, a goal scorer is what Chelsea need.

I mean I understand why they feel that way. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to me personally. You compared them to the yankees or lakers, but if somehow I was professional caliber at basketball/baseball I wouldn't want to play for either of those two franchises. I hate the lakers and Yankees. And I know a lot of Americans feel the same way. There doesn't seem to be ANY hatred of the big boy on the block, hometown loyalty, or desire to forge your own path or legacy in europoeam football. To be fair there a lot of american athletes who want to join the big boys but it's not near this level. I understand it's a cultural thing I'm just saying it's a bit sad

lamela

He's still young and has a tendency to drift out of games still... That said, I think they've bought themselves a natural born world shaker... I think his future will be in the middle though... he seemed to thrive there for Roma after Zemen left... he scored a good bit under Zemen, but he had an all out attack philosophy that probably got him sacked..

hometown loyalty
there is a hell of a lot of this in Europe.

It´s all about dimension or scale. If you´re great, you´ll find yourself hitting your head on the ceiling, and must showcase yourself in a proper setting (Bale, may or may not be great, but is considered by many to be, and he obviously thinks he is. He is taking the logical next step, provided of course, Real want him).

Yea, Lamela will be a #10 imo. That's his natural position

all the tools are there...

edit: I'm sure Barca (or RM) will be in for him soon enough and he'll be off... Barca tried to bring him to La Masia as a kid but he opted to stay in Argentina..

True, but we need quality width just as badly.

Just saw that Roma signed Ljajic to replace Lamela. Great pickup.

At least he will get minutes there.

Maybe I should put a hit on Cisse.
