Will be retroactive penalty

"Today, May 18, 2017 — a date which will live in history — the Football Association voted, in unison, to introduce retrospective two-match bans for players found guilty of diving or feigning injury, an offense which heretofore was a shameful stain upon our beloved game."

Good idea in theory, but I have no faith in the FA to hand out penalties fairly.

Worth a shot, hopefully the fact it's out there will be enough of a deterrent where it will lessen the need for the FA to take any retrospective punishment anyway.

Now if only the other leagues, who actually need it, would enact this.

It's a good start and if it at least only punishes flopping and injury simulation where there is no contact at all upon review (Rashford, yes I'm still mad), then I will take it

A. It's called diving

B. It will be hilarious when the first English player gets banned

Obviously it started more with certain nationalities, but it's a worldwide problem now. I'm interested to see how it works, but I think it's a step in the right direction.

Now we just needs referees to not only call fouls when someone goes down holding their head or ankle because that just makes players think that's the only way they'll get a call anyway.

This will produce some great TV next year with clips of players diving and writhing on the ground off pure instinct and then remembering a split second later they can be banned for it.

Diving is a huge problem everywhere. England is not immune.

You know what he is talking about. Don't be an a-hole just to be an a-hole. Are you going to reprimand someone that says cleats instead of boots? Field instead of pitch?

Soccer players don't say flop

Cleats and boots are both acceptable and common used terms

No, it's not immune thanks to all the foreigners in the league now but it's easily the league where it occurs the least. La Liga games are unwatchable for real men.
