Arsenal or Liverpool?

Way too early to tell.

Thats my opinion... I'm not giving up on Balo, and I'm hoping he will flourish with Sturridge as his strike partner.. He's the risk we all thought he'd be, but still not a bad one at the price. I think we need another starting quality striker... But just as much due to Studge's injury issues... I am convinced he will never complete a season without injuries.
Welbeck seems to be enjoying a change of scenery but he's not done anything special, bar the one hat trick..
Of course, the spotlight is heavy on Balotelli and every little thing he does is scrutinized... He probably doesn't have the mental makeup to deal with that well (unlike someone like Luis). Welbeck can kinda go about his business with no fuss.. good for him, he seems like a likable guy

Wana know how I know you are not watching Arsenal matches
Im a huge Balo fan but I feel Liverpool is a bad fit for him from the start. He needs that manager who can be a father figure for him as well.

What he needs is to not be played alone up top
Posted on 10/20/14 at 11:08 am to StraightCashHomey21
he's scored two league goals... and Ive seen him miss quite a few too. Granted, I don't watch every minute of every match.
special would be something reserved for a start like Diego Costa's.. But perhaps you are more easily impressed or eager to be right, for once...

Yeah, clearly not the best role for him... but lets face it, our creative players have been anything but so far this year, too.. I don't think a player like Welbeck would have fared much better in our current team...
Anyone who thought he was going to come in and set the EPL on fire was badly mistaken... I had higher hopes for some of our other signings..

This is back to the debate we had last time, he does so much more than just score. Now is is doing that while coming up with clutch goals. He also has 3 goals for England. I think him finally in his natural he is going to flourish.

While Mario has been put in a position he's not as comfortable and still done a lot of the dirty work a lot of people didn't expect him to do, myself included.
He's tracked back, pressed pretty well, held the ball up well in most games really except for yesterday. He just hasn't gotten the goals, which I think will come once Sturridge comes back and hopefully that'll get his confidence back up.

Hes getting bashed pretty bad by the media

Again, he's been nothing special to me (as had Balo), but I'm sure Arsenal fans are pleased with him, I don't think there were very high expectations...
The expectations of Balotelli are extremely high and unrealistic... Ive actually been pleased with his work rate and off the pitch behavior, but of course we want him to score more goals and I think they will come eventually...
So, if you want to say Welbeck has had abetter start, sure... But it's way too early...

Cause he's Mario. What's new? He had a bad game and he's had unreal expectations so I'm not surprised.
Don't get me wrong, he's been far from good, but I think he's also come in and bought in to the system. But as a striker, you're always gonna be judged by how many goals you score no matter what, and to some people, he was never gonna succeed because he wasn't gonna replace Suarez.
He's just in a real bad patch of form right now and yesterday was by far the worst display. Unfortunately, he's always been an easy target for the media, and deservedly so at times. I just hope he keeps his head up because we know it can definitely spin farther out of control, but he's handled himself well so far I think.

Umm, yours?
Yeah, he came with fan fare because he was a high profile guy, but i think most LFC fans still considered Studge to be the main man.. Sure he's a "fun" signing and we have hoped for a better start..

Yeah, he's having a tough go of it, but none of our players has been great... a few have had their moments... he's an easy target, but he's not the reason we are bad right now... I'm with you, I hope he can keep his head up and not let it get to him.

Welbeck has been fantastic for us. Scored key goals, works his arse off, and went in with a two-footed challenge on Fabregas. We've needed a player who wants to run onto the ball since Walcott went down, and we've needed a striker capable of getting behind the defense since Henry. Welbeck does both.
Balo has elite technique but he's literally an antiquated player. If he were playing in Italy at the beginning of the 2000's he'd be lethal. But he's played for teams that can't afford to have a very traditional number 9 walking around the pitch. His movement off the ball is extremely poor. He doesn't want to expend energy doing anything other than attacking.

JC saying hes done with him, Redknapp just said there is a reason you go to the super market and things are half priced

Arsenal
Because Welbz is dat guy.

Redknapp being captain ovious there...
Everyone knew he was a risk, thats why he was on the cheap...
He wasnt anyone's first choice, but given the options we had, it was still ok... And yes, being who he is came with a lot of fanfare...
Actually, IMO.. He doesnt like to get in the box near enough and would rather drop deep and play out on the wings.. Hopefully, he fares better with Daniel as a stike partner.
Again, way too early to tell who is better... like it even really matters (meaning we didnt choose balo over welbeck), though I dont think either one of us has got a world beater
