Got an email from Alabama saying: "Alabama wins 14th National Title"

I got a Masters of Law (LLM) at Alabama...Please forgive me... and my Bama email account is still valid. I logged in today to find an email entitled "Alabama Wins 14th National Title". I'm new to college football, having only really begun watching when I started at LSU in 2007...How the hell does Bama claim 14 titles?

Just reporting the email I received. It's the schools claim, not mine. Oh, by the way when you opent he email it was them trying to sell a bunch of National Champion gear. I didn't buy.

I won't give Bama shite for claiming any of their titles except 1941. I know damn well that when Tennessee wins their next national title, I'll probably be claiming it's the seventh. At least around people that don't follow football that closely.

By the way, did y'all notice ESPN quietly changed the #13 Bama helmet on the Gameday set to #14 for the post game?

In short, we claim all 4 of our Rose Bowl victories (prior to the polling era that started in the mid 1930s) as national championships - and rightfully so. That gives us 13. We also claim a bullshite title from 1941, in which we went 9-2 and lost to MSU and Vandy.
BUT, we also got screwed out of a title in 1966 after an undefeated season - having won 2 consecutive titles before that, and again were jipped in 1977.
So I don't feel the least bit guilty for claiming 1941 or "14".

Yep, its 9 POLL TITLES...the earliest ones predate that mark.

Yes. It was subtle and classy in the same vein as the typical Gump comportment and decorum.
