I'm pretty enthusiastic about how terrible her campaign has been and how far it has set back any plans the dems have in regards to "turning texas blue"

bravo wendy, you're the best thing to happen to republicans (I'm a libertarian though) since Ronald reagan

If Wendy Davis was true to her own convictions, she would abort her campaign.

partly, but if abbott weren't handicapped and were not married to a Hispanic woman, her campaign would've been par for the course, if not mild in comparison to other dems.

It was all right out of the playbook

1. hate women
2. hate the handicapped
3. hate minorities

2/3, GA was and is impenetrable on. Imagine if Romney's wife were black and biden said "they want to put you back in chains"...she just stuck to the script and didn't adjust to her opponent. She's stiff on camera, she never said anything of substance (the $ amount per student sticks out in my mind during the debates) and she was just outmatched in every way...sure, she is totally batshit, but it has only received recognition because of the person she is running against.

regardless of how you feel about abortion, some random audio of a black woman talking about her really sums it up

she stood up for 13 hours in support of the killing of children/fetus/whatever you want to call it. It says a lot, not only because a large portion of our population finds that reprehensible, but it is really the only thing she's done of any note...super unqualified.

it's only about 9 months old, I don't see why she'd have a problem with that

The disturbing part of that is that ages 18-29 and 30-44 both favor Wendy by a good bit. That doesn't bode well for the future of the GOP if that idiot can win young voters in Texas

most people when they hit 30, are very different than they were 6-12 years ago...not even concerned...that and young people don't really rock the vote like people would have you believe.

too busy listening to their jazz records and drinking hooch

the 53% "moderate" ideology folks who are voting for Davis are just closet dems that don't want to admit they are lib/progs.
i voted against perry every chance i got, and there is no way in hell id vote for this shite show davis.

That group polled 49-44 in party identity, so 5% difference. I dont see the MoE on the poll but its probably pretty close to it. I wouldnt read anything into it.
Think about that. she is either tied or barely winning the under 44 crowd. But yeah, Texas is turning purple ya'll

can't speak to that, but I don't give a shite about 18-24 year olds, and I don't think how they poll at that age is relevant to how they'll vote in 4, 8, 12 years.

she really isn't losing any worse than the dems did the last few times around.

Demographics will ultimately win texass, it will just take 20 years

Of course it is. Every state in the union is, with varying degrees of speed, at least until social conservatism dies.

so what does that tell you, doesn't sound like it is trending blue...but yet, people say it is...so which is it?

texas isn't a battleground, or wendy set things back...then there's opportunity cost if abbott is very successful while in office.

If wendy was the best candidate they could find then I feel pretty good about my chances of a long future in a red state. yeeeehaw

I think the demographics to switch texass blue haven't really come into play yet. Its starting but not there yet. Plus, its mid year election cycle, younger voters stay home more frequently during these.

She wasn't that bad of a candidate if you ask me. she wasn't a particularly strong candidate either but she had good name recognition due to the filibuster. Only idiots thought she had a chance IMHO.

I think 2018/2020 will be the years to look for trends.

Interesting about the racial divide for these candidates:

80% Black - for Davis
65% White - for Abbott
46% Hispanic - For Davis

Straight ticket anyone?

aaaah, I see, the messicans

yeah, we don't have a shite ton of those already. You know, red or blue, they've faced the same challenges getting here and the same indifference to making them leave. I think this is the most overblown thing in the world. The people who employ them here, who are nice to them, who welcome them, aren't all wearing beads and have 50 bumper stickers. They're also not too big on Wendy's biggest platform. We'll see how they vote when first generation americans are voting, until then...it's all speculation, and the pendulum will always swing both ways
