It's the only logical thing to think. This isn't a slippery slope discussion. It's basically the same thing. No slope.
There's no rational way a person can say the name on a school has to be removed but books about that person can stay.
There's no rational way you can believe a person so offensive, their statute can't be seen, but we should live under that person's ideas.

Well, the way a lot of you on the right talk, it's hard to think this isn't YOUR goal also. I read "burn it all down" type sentiment on here all the time.
if youre looking for intellectual honesty, youve come to the wrong place. on this board, "people should be free" actually means "the people i agree with should be free".

This is why we have a Surpreme Court. Unless some serious shakeups occur, this particular slippery slope will not reach the constitution. The court has shown time and again that offensive speech is protected.

People were visiting these monuments as an after thought. No one was going to these statues and honoring them: They were only seeing them secondarily to another act (e.g. visiting a park). Yet, people are ripping them down anyway.
So, you can't leave dangerous books in libraries where someone might be in their proximity. They should be burnt!
