I love watching these people's reactions to almost anything. I've come up with a PC term for them: "The selectively offended."
Back in the late 60s I watched a basketball game on TV between Houston and Duke. In those days, Duke was a very mediocre team and Houston was highly ranked. It was played at Duke and they lost badly.
Houston had mostly (if not all) black players and Duke was mostly white. The Duke fans started chanting:
'That's all right! That's OK!
You're gonna work for us some day!"
I thought it was funny at the time (smart students become bosses and dumb students become workers) but wonder if it would be allowed today due to the implication of master and slave.

Michael Sam isn't even the gayest player on Dallas' team. Tony Romo still holds that distinction.

I think that was pretty damn funny.

B
I laughed.
Look, the media pushing the gay agenda, used Michael Sam's sexuality. Michael Sam seemed to be perfectly fine being made into a "gay rights pioneer" because it was better than "mediocre football player". I don't understand why talking about him " getting the D" is of limits. Is it not what they (media and Sam) wanted ?

It's funny, and it will be a sad day in America when grand old fraternities on Southern campuses lose their immunity.
Immunity to what? You do realize they have national charters to abide by correct?

The correct answer.
Anyone that considers it homophobic must also consider any references to hetero sex as being heterophobic.

The pussification of America continues. Agree with another poster about "being offended and getting power from it". Michael Sam IS NOT a legit NFL player right now but the media plays him up like he's the 2nd coming.

I think it's sad that this was a front page story on Nola.com this morning.

I asked one of my gay friends years ago "What is a derogatory term that gays use for us heteroes?"
Him: 'Breeders.'

I would judge them based on their own objectives
The objects of Delta Kappa Epsilon are: The cultivation of general literature and social culture,
The advancement and encouragement of intellectual excellence,
The promotion of honorable friendship and useful citizenship,
The development of a spirit of tolerance and respect for the rights and views of others,
The maintenance of gentlemanly dignity, self-respect, and morality in all circumstances, and
The union of stout hearts and kindred interests, to secure to merit its due reward.

When I tell my wife during LSU games that she is "gettin' the D" after the game ... it doesn't offend her. Granted, it doesn't always excite her, either.

Thanks. We didn't have them at Centenary. We had:
TKE ... the HS athletes
Kappa Sig... Rich kids from Dallas.
Kappa Alpha .. Old South (no blacks allowed)
Theta Chi ... foreign exchange students
Zach was disinterested and had no money for dues.

quote:I found this to be very ignorant.
The left wants us to accept "gay" as mainstream.
quote:And then you made an insanely good point. I wish it weren't so difficult to convey this message to people of different groups who are likely to take offense at superficial playground humor like the material on the frat sign in the OP. Most gays take offense at someone saying the F-word, and I understand this because I can see why they would think that behind the utterance of that word may sit a person who, when teamed up with like-minded individuals, can make for a society that discriminates against gay people.
What better way to signify that you've accepted it than to be able to joke about it?
The f-word carries only a superficial meaning to me, and I often use it as a rib with friends. If a gay person overhears me say this and takes offense, I wish I could express to that person that sitting behind the utterance of that word in its applied context is a man to whom the word means nothing because I know that sexuality is but a minor, benign detail about a person's character.
quote:Sadly, you are right.
But I bet thats not what comes out of this.
Again, great point.

Holy shite! Another person offended at something some other 'tard said. The Deke's should be forced to pay millions and millions of dollars to anyone that was offended.

No, he means 'normal', not mainstream. Gays want to be viewed as normal. That's why the push for gay marriage even though very few gays want to be married. It's a push for normalization. On the outside of the circle wanting to get inside the circle.

remember when college was a little less serious and you could be a little more tasteless and it was funny?
