What a miserable little world we live in...

LINK

quote:

Yale University has kicked off the new school year by officially scrapping the terms “freshman” and “upperclassman” and replacing them with the gender-neutral terms “first year” and “upper-level students."

“It’s really for public, formal correspondence and formal publications … we’re not trying to tell people what language to use in their everyday casual conversations,” Dean Marvin Chun told the school newspaper. “We’re not trying to be language police.”

Chun applauded the “modern" terms, saying he hopes they will be used exclusively in all communications by next academic year.

Rumblings for more inclusivity began last year, and by spring administrators began using the new terms.

Cornell University, Columbia University and Dartmouth College have all inched away from the old labels in official documents as well.

Does not affect me. Do not care. Does not make me miserable. Sorry for the pain and anxiousness that you are feeling, though.

When the libtards at the Simpsons make fun of you, like they did with Yale, you know you're standing on the precipice of absurdity.

What if someone identifies as a system though? (I didn't make that up) you're discriminating against systems that identify as more than one person.

"First part" is better than "first year." In case an entity identifies xerself as outside the bounds of time.

"Attack helicopters" is offensive. The correct term is "rotary aircraft of peace".

Colleges are becoming a joke.

They have lost their mission.

Yea, I don't get the point about students being able to use their own terms to discuss the new names. The school has officially indoctrinated the designation and people are sure to correct you if you use the wrong designation now.

That's how these things work. You're a bigot if you don't call them by new names.

So, I guess this is how the higher education bubble burst. Piss enough parents off that they refuse to send the kids to college anymore?

A downward spiral to see who can present themselves as the most ideologically pure.

Insanity.

I laugh at people who are "triggered" by words, like Freshman. When the shite eventually hits the fan, and it will, they aren't going to make it.

This is what they use in Britain and have for years. Why not just use that as the justification?

A word is just the projection of a thought, you must change the language to eliminate thought crimes.
