Would you support ID checks at state borders to catch illegals?

Title. Completely optional for the state, because I believe states should have a say in who comes in. Checking driver licenses, passports, visas, etc. for anyone entering the state domestically from another state.
If a state like Arizona wants to check all the IDs of people entering that state either by car on the interstate, entering Arizona airports from a domestic flight, coming via train, etc.; it should be able to do so. That way peace officers could easily spot illegals and hand them off to ICE officials. Instead of going after them, they'd essentially be coming to us. The people doing the checks could also be plain clothes officers for efficiency.

No. I don't need to be hassled any more than I already am to fly.

I'll take the hassle of showing an officer my ID over a couple of immigrants who could be criminals slipping through.

If by 2020 when us citizens will have to have a specific authorized ID to get in federal buildings then I see no problem for asking for IDs for aliens to get into this country.

At one point we will be able to just use thumbprints and/or eye retinas for most services. Not in the system? An officer will be with you shortly. :)

That has the potential to become a cluster of epic proportions. The free flow of goods and services between state lines is one of the things that makes our country work well.
"Finding" illegals is not the problem with the current system. It's letting them go afterwards without deportation that is the problem.
These checkpoints already exist in the states that share borders with Mexico. Not sure how many people they catch but they are scanning every plate and I am sure if you are profiled you get pulled over for further questioning.

Would you mind house to house searches?
Posted on 10/8/17 at 9:02 am to Parmen
Actually, no. I shouldn't be stopped and questioned unless I'm doing something wrong.
Full disclosure, I feel the same way about DWI checkpoints. I don't drink so you'd think I'd have no problems being stopped. Wrong! The cops have no authority to stop me to see if I have committed a crime. They should have an actual reason to stop me and check me. I'm pro police, but I take my rights serious.

I don't think every state needs it. But states that are a hive of illegals like California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Florida, etc. need it.

Nope. I have nothing to hide. I'm not a fan of being searched but at least I'll be doing something for the greater good. It'll take 10 seconds to see I have no one else in my home besides my wife and myself. I'll thank the officers for their service and then offer them a bottle of water and a snack afterward.

Driving to the beach would be one hell of a hassle. Be cursing a lot more than just that Mobile tunnel.

Oh look another small government conservative

There's the rub. If passports are checked for legality's sake for people flying into our country, which anyone will agree is needed, why would you be against people driving or walking into this country.

Hey, if you got nothing to hide, you shouldn't mind a border patrol check before heading into the Florabama.

Yeah, seriously. This board was all about getting illegals out, but now actually don't support any measures to actually do it. Building the Trump Wall is a necessary and I 100% support it as something we need time now, but that will only stop new illegals. We have 11 million (and probably more) already inside that need to go.

I'm in full support of a wall.... but illegals don't bother me half as much as able body son of a bitches making a career of sitting home on they're arse and collecting a check.
