So what you are saying is an increase in the minimum wage is a cost shifted to the consumer. Uh that is how it will happen one way or another. Oh and you think the Government would let go of the additional charge the consumers would pay to fund this by making it tax exempt? Nope.

I get that. Majority are only part time as well. My point I guess would be how seemingly easy it would be to boost wages.

Yeah. Your figures look legit. Good job.

while Walmart could simply add $.01 to every item in their store and have enough money to pay everyone a dollar more,

you should recheck your math...the .01 in your calculations is 1%. Raising every item $.01 is only 1% if every item is $1.00

ETA: No,I'm not willing to pay a tax for a private company to pay employees

Thoughts

Remember when a coke was 50 cents and now it's 1.50.

If you base inflate everyone, then the market will adjust itself.

That's how it works.

Minimum wage is just that, minimum wage. It's it meant to be a living wage to raise a family on.

It's not even meant to be a means to live on by yourself. It's means to be a minimum starting point for unskilled job labor.
