Not going off the deep end. Just a curious question. Based on your response, you must be one of them guys who think watching sports make you a man.

It's really not that surprising, is it?

People watch sports to have FUN. Some to take a BREAK from reality.

Now, watching football is NOT FUN. Now, those that need it, cannot take a break. The announcers talk politics, the players talk politics....., the first LSU game I watched on ESPN, had a non-stop Trump bashing ticker going the ENTIRE GAME. It was unbelievable.

Shoving a bunch of shite in your customer's face.....is an unusual business practice. Can anyone lead me to any precedent from a successful business using this (customer kiss my arse) model? Bueller....Bueller???

Guess what else, football is a TIME CONSUMING and EXPENSIVE sport to enjoy. I am truly thankful that this happened. My poor kids use to sit around bored for 3 hours and Sat and 3 hours on Sunday..... Now that is PLAYTIME.

Already got a ton of plans for this weekend!

PS - please don't stop this professional athletes. PLEASE continue to kneel. Please continue to claim systemic racism that is SOOOO prevalent, yet no one can prove. If it keeps up for a few years, when the next CBA's come out..... and your salaries are slashed..... middle class and poor fans may actually be able to go to the games and still feed their families!!!!!

All while you millionaires cry about your tough tough lives.

And no, I am not jealous of their income. I am already better off than most that have been retired for 10 years. And there income is done at 28-32 years old, while mine will never cease. Just mentioning this because I am sure this will be one of the first counters to this post.

I'm mixed on this. I agree it is an opiate of the masses, far more than religion at this point. But I would say it extends more out to the entire Poular Culture. All these Oprah ladies who can't find North Korea on a map but can tell you All the latest celebrity gossip.

Probably not the hundreds of thousands of people who hold jobs in the industry and the millions who receive an indirect economic benefit from professional sports.

But, yeah, we should probably get rid a billion dollar industry from our economy because some brain-dead yolkels have a problem with players taking a peaceful stance against a perceievd problem with our society.
