People would have more time to get out and excercise. Spend time with family. More money in people's pockets. A pair of basketball shoe would be at reasonable price. I'm sure our literacy would improve. People wouldn't have to dislike people from another city because of team A vs team B.

But professional team sports can be exciting. It can unifying a city or group of people. It gives people something to talk about.

I don't think any of these follow from 'no professional sports'.

Yes... let's degrade and devolve our society even more

This is exactly what the enemies of America and cultural Marxists want... they want to attack America's strengths... free speach, guns, culture, entertainment... and we're handing it over to them!!!

No. Sports are great because they give us a semi-productive outlet for our tribalism. The Trump Cult of Personality really has done a number on so many of my fellow conservatives. It seems like most of ya'll now hate all TV, movies, sports, porn, booze, etc. Ya'll are turning into a bunch of MADD progressive teetotalers.

I've never watched any pro sports. I like to get out and do things instead.
I watch college football on Saturdays in the fall, doing even less of that lately.
Really prefer to shoot rifles, ride the 4 wheeler in the woods, work on a project, whatever.

Not sure if we'd be better off without them, but it's ludicrous that professional athletes are paid several times what some medical professionals and others who are making a more meaningful impact are paid. But let the money go where it wants.

We'd evolve and find different things. I think eventually traditional sports as we know them will fall to the wayside.

Im certainly ready for a change.

It would be nice if there was a great awakening where large swaths of the population understood that the hired thugs of the organization in their area playing with a ball better than the hired thugs from another area is not important at all, in spite of the massive PR organization trying to convince them otherwise.

Our society is in its lowest state and it has nothing to do with professional sports. 10 more years of deaths and births and all will be well

Several? Top NBA player makes 30 mil a year which is over 100x the salary of a surgeon. How many lives does a surgeon save each year? It has been calculated that doctors add 15 years to the life expectancy of a person. While watch professional sports (NBA, NFL) is entertaining, it doesn't improve quality of life overall.

I'll just say that there is probably not more than 2 people on here that thinks a preacher should espouse his politics from his bully pulpit but there are many people on here who have no problem with athletes preaching from their bully pulpit the ball field.

Bully pulpits are in the eye of the beholder it seems. If you don't have a problem with the athletes expressing their views then why do you hold it against the clerics?

Went to my nephew's ring ceremony at Holy Cross about a month ago.

Had to hear about NAZIs from the fat fricking priest trying to indoctrinate him. The entire drive to the dance afterward I beat it into his head that there was NO NAZIs left; that we already defeated them.

He's MAGA! And I'm damn proud!

There are going to be a lot more deaths than in history and the world will be better in 10 years and look much different from now. I can't wait to see the United States how it was meant to be.

I strongly recommend that sports fans look up late 19th century American football. It's fascinating. There were no coaches. The captain of the team made decisions. Around 1900 coaches showed up but the player captain still had veto power over substitutions.

Roscoe comes in on defense.
Capt: 'What are you doing out here?'
Roscoe: 'Coach sent me in for Jones.'
Capt: 'Well, I'm sending you back to the bench. Get out.'

There were no hash marks so defenders tried to tackle the runner inches away from out of bounds causing the next hike to use an extremely unbalanced line.... 10 men to one side of the snapper.
