Selectively, right? Just the parts of the law you like?

Hampshire College pretty much is Port Chester University from the movie PCU.

Well, just rounding them up and deporting them is against the law too. So, what do you want to do?

The law should be enforceable and make sense and should not create unfunded mandates. If funds are not and cannot be appropriated to enforce a law, it is rather meaningless.

I am talking about creating a way for those brought here as children to get right with the law. That should not be controversial.

Surely you are smart enough to know that everything that a society allows, affects everyone's life in one way or another? Surely you can see how we've already moved from " letting people do what they want if it doesn't affect me" to " anyone who says anything is wrong with certain behaviors, that person should be silenced, fired, jailed?"

Just follow the law. That's all I want. Is that unreasonable?

I have seen no evidence of ramping up the much feared deportation forces.

So, we should not take Trump at his word?

He says that they all have to go and we have to get them out. He has talked about deportation forces. He says that they all need to be deported.

Why should I not believe him?

Following the law requires each person go through due process and have their day in court. The courts cannot handle that for millions of people. We don't have enough immigration judges. So, the law would require a costly ramp up of the immigration court system that would take quite a bit of time and money.

Many of these people will claim hardship and asylum status. Going through the courts on that will also take time and treasure. But, the law requires that those avenues of appeal be made available. The law requires a lot of things.

The much better way is to carve out an exception for these people and let them apply for the pathway to earned legalized status. They pay, get to work, have a future, and we all benefit. Tying them up in the courts pending potential deportation is both costly and does not consider what was done to them. It makes no sense unless the goal is just to be punitive and make sure we have less brown people here. Even though I have been reluctant to believe it for a long time, I'm starting to think that that is the goal - especially when it is shown that it is to our detriment to deport this many people.

Hampshire College is an SJW breeding ground. It's an alternative type school that does a lot of experimental things. Basically the inmates run the assylum

When you see the deportation forces piling folks on the train south you let me know. I'll march and sob with you. Deal?

You ignored the selective enforcement of laws part.

You should probably learn something about that student's actual situation.

This is a country of treating people equal. If you come here at 3 or 25, you should be treated equal. How about the people that came here and went through the legal process? I guess you think it is cool to shite on them. If his parents would have done the right thing, this would be a non issue.

Well, by then that would be pointless.

How about we express our opinions now before it gets to that point? You know, like Americans have the right to do?

Who is stopping you from expressing your opinion and you think that deportation forces are coming.?

We have already mostly agreed.

Just have to figure out how to explain to legal immigrants why they bothered to follow the process and paid all that money by doing the right thing.

I think there should be a path to citizenship and it should be a different kind of citizenship for a good long while to make things right for those that came here legally.

4. I believe in the rule of law. But, having a blanket law that allows for no consideration for those brought here without their consent is not a just law. It punishes the victim

So using your same logic. If the same parents run a illegal pyramid scheme and buy their minor child a home and other assets with their ill gotten gains, the children should be allowed to keep it to the detriment of those who funded the illegal scheme....because they are "victims"

Most of these "victims" were impoverished, that is why they left their country. They were then given free education, welfare and health care they would have never had in their own country. These freebies were all funded by the taxpayers of this country. Our children will be paying the debt for our generosity. I sympathize with them, but we can't afford to support their overwhelming numbers any longer. It is them or us fiscally speaking. We cant afford to permit the mindset of government dependence to destroy our way of life.

Well, the process for earned legalized status should be longer and harder than what legal immigrants have to go through.

Which means they will never do it.

Catch 22

Get them out as they go on TV and commit crimes.
