With Obama leaving, Marco Rubio moves to gut D.C. laws

Congressional Republicans are making an aggressive push to gut the District’s progressive policies, introducing bills in recent days to repeal the heavily Democratic city’s gun-control measures, undo its new law allowing physician-assisted suicide and ban the District from using local tax dollars to provide abortions for poor women.
The bills have begun arriving on the eve of President Obama’s departure from the White House, where he has stifled repeated attempts to pass similar measures with a veto threat.
quote:
On Tuesday, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), reintroduced a bill to repeal the District’s gun-control laws, which are among the most restrictive in the nation. Under one provision in Rubio’s bill, police in the nation’s capital would have to drop tight controls on who is allowed to carry a gun outside a home. Instead, the city would be compelled to issue concealed-carry permits to any resident or visitor who meets the most basic criteria.

Marco is unstoppable. Champion of the people's rights. Day after day he's proposing legislation for the betterment of all Americans. Rubio 20/20. Vision. Foresight. Growth.

I'd like to see 70% of present-day DC retroceded to Maryland, and a large part of Northern Virginia given to DC

Meh if some D.C. Residents want to off themselves with a doctors help im cool with it.

If he had focused on being the face of stuff like this and not gotten tricked into being the Republican poster boy for amnesty, he would be President already.

He and Cruz have potential, they have to stop bowing down when they're challenged by the left though.
Cruz has to work on optics, he just looks like a lying sleaze no matter how much we like what he's saying.

Rubio isn't paying you enough.

Glad the upgrade to his software isn't glitched

I've always liked Rubio, as a patriot and a future political leader. Just that this time, he was not the kind of Boss that we needed to clean up DC and make it work for his kind of politics.
Trump will drain the swamp and pave the way for the next group.

Over my dead god damn body.

I strongly support doctor assisted suicide. This is the kind of shite conservatives need to butt out of.

This is probably a good program for that place.

Rubio's ceiling is a Senator or FL governor. I don't see him ever being a Republican nominee for President

Hopefully they use their time wisely to remove as much bullshite prog initiatives as try can. The dems fricked up their 2 years of power by working to jam cash for clunkers and Obamacare down Americans' throats.

Rubio would have defeated Hillary in a landslide

I would hope you're right but I doubt it. She would have worked him in the debates.
Hillary would have also had almost all of the news coverage, which was huge in propelling Trump to victory

The networks would not have attacked Rubio like they did trump.
Trump benefitted from the slanderous network coverage. Some coverage was self inflicted, maybe on purpose.
