We all know this board is VERY pro Trump but why would you be against a special prosecutor for the Russian investigation?
If Trump is truly innocent then there is nothing to worry about.

I don't think one is needed based off the evidence I've seen.

But if the people who decide these things decide that one is indeed needed, I wouldn't argue.

Nope. We have wikileaks and know the "Russian" hacks are deep state initiated.

Only if you support a special prosecutor to investigate your connections to pedophilia.

There's no need for a special prosecutor for Russia.

That's a complete fabrication of the left as an excuse for putting forth the worst candidate in US political history.

Even Clapper and Yates said there was no collision and Russia didn't "hack" our election.

No for 2 reasons. One, demprogs will never accept the findings as complete closure of the issue. This is not a search for truth but rather a scheme to obfuscate Trump's presidency.

Secondly, there are multiple ongoing investigations (DOJ/Senate/House) so we should let those play out before an independent special prosecutor is even thought of.

Reminder, several high ranking dems have stated publicly there is absolutely no current evidence of Trump collusion with Russie. NONE

I don't even support one right now. The Burr-Warner led Senate committee appears to be on top of things at the moment. One of the rare cases I agree with Mitch McConnell. If they get off the rails though, it's time to form an independent council.

If there is evidence, yes. But there is none. You can't appoint a prosecutor until there's something to prosecute. These calls are purely partisan.

FWIW, the House investigation hasn't really moved at all since Nunes was forced to step down. All the action is in the Senate.

Will you support wasting tens of millions of taxpayers' dollars on a fishing expedition when there is no evidence of wrongdoing, much less any evidence that rises to the level of probable cause?

The special prosecutor is a Democratic strategy therefore it must not be allowed.

Unless it's just a witch hunt to dig deeper into everything trump. I'd prefer some evidence connecting him first, but even though I support him if he did collude with them I can't argue against finding out

Why did the DNC refuse to give the FBI access to their hacked servers and instead outsource it to a third party to relay the evidence to the FBI? What did they have to hide?

They didn't hack themselves, but no politicians like their stuff being dug into. All politicians love their opponents business being dug into, and will justify it by any means. That's all this feels like unless they find any evidence among the current investigations.

I didn't really think that needed to be posted in the context of my post. The House investigation has become a shitshow because dems wanted to throw shade at Nunes for outing the whole unmasking thing.

Because you cannot indulge political witch hunts. There is nothing behind this accusation and we don't even know if the FBI is even investigating trump, according to Grassley, via Comey, he isn't.

If we let this happen, expect perpetual investigations into highly politicized, baseless accusations for every president until the end of time. It's time for Dems to stop acting like infants, accept the loss, and start using your resources to restore your party's future.

Let's put the corrupt, political dynasties of the Bush's and Clintons behind us.

If they were to find nothing, would the left finally let this "story" go?

Doubt it.

A special prosecutor can meander anywhere and it will be used by the biased media to trumpet any little wrinkle in an effort to confuse the people and paint the admin in a poor light. It's all about politics, and you know that. No evidence of collusion has been found after a lengthy investigation. Only hacks want this.
