Will Republicans lose 2018 mid-term elections worse than the Dems lost in 2010?

Campaigner-in-Chief can't help himself...pandering around to his base in front of the CIA memorial. Really?

I have a feeling 2018 will be a slaughter. 435 congressional seats and 33 senate seats up for grabs.

Trump has exactly 2 years to get anything done. shite will grind to a halt in DC come the 2018 mid-term elections.

Not likely, majority of house seats are gerrymandered to the point they're non-competitive and the senate seats that are up are heavily slanted towards repubs.

No chance. Midterms are heavily slanted toward older, more dedicated, higher earning voters. And that's heavily Republican. And the GOP is nearing the same kind of institutional advantage due to redistricting that the Dems enjoyed from the 1930s-1980s.

The thing to watch will be if the Dems more or less hold serve in the Senate and maybe pick up a few house seats (though the GOP will keep majorities in both). If that happens, 2020 might be a sight to see--especially if the Dems nominate a decent candidate.

If Trump's first term is colossally bad, all bets are on--including him not running in 2020 or facing a primary challenge. But we'll see.

you just saw what to expect day one from this admin.

you have seen the testimony of the idiots Trump has picked for his cabinet and several of them not know anything about their office

Rick Perry didnt even know the Dept of Energy controls the nukes. Devos had a month to prepare and gave Grizzly bears as an answer.

this is a clusterfrick of historical proportions and hopefully enough of the basket of stupid that elected this clown will come around.

check out the senate seats up for re-election in 2018. They are virtually all red state Democrats. Indiana, Dakotas, etc.

Obamacare likely had a lot to do with that, but they also leveraged that to win key state seats and governorships ahead of release of the 2010 census.

Right. If the Dems can keep it 52-48 (or even 53-47 or 54-46) they'll be lucky. And that may portend some bad news for the GOP in '20. A lot depends upon what Trump can/can't deliver and how his team can sell it. So far, the selling part is lacking. A reasonable replacement (or even a schedule for replacement) of O-care and a good foreign policy win would be a good start.

Well that's a part of Healthcare, so it's in the ballpark. But he's pot-committed to reforming Obamacare, and God knows it's needed.

Can't frick that up. If what they come up with leaves more people without healthcare without some SERIOUS savings, it's going to be rough.

As long as the left keep acting like SJW retards the Republicans will continue to build their leads in every branch.

Based on the melts during Trump's president-elect phase and his first 24 hours as POTUS this appears to be the path we are on.

I'd say R's will be at 60 Senate seats and 250+ house seats in 2 years. shite, we are almost at these numbers just from Obama's shitty run. Sprinkle some MAGA in there and we could be looking at 70 in the Senate and 280+ in the house.

lol Democrats aren't taking time off from not going to work to go vote in the mid-term elections. Get real. They have to get celebrities to put on free shows and beg people to show up to vote in the presidential election.

To the extent he gets anything done, or doesn't get anything done.

Having said this, have you looked at the seats up this next mid-term? For a bunch of guys on a board devoted to politics, I'm assuming at least a couple of people have looked ahead correct? This is not a favorable set of seats for Democrats to defend.

Don't think it will be a bloodbath, but def see the R's losing a decent amount of seats...

Of course, that all depends on what they actually do over the next 2yrs. If they do a good amount of what Trump claims they will, yet not go as far on some of the really polarizing topics, they will be closer to breaking even. The Rs aren't going to abandon and go D, they just need to worry about the independents.
