I chuckled at that too. A song from a Jacksonville Fl. band, putting down a Yankee, for dissing the state of Alabama, or the south in general.
It very easily could have been named Sweet Home Louisiana, Georgia... any of the states in the south.
It's a damn good song if you have deep southern roots and southern pride.
Happy Thanksgiving and to all be safe. I'm out the door for a five and half hour drive to Panama City for family reunion and Thanksgiving.

Because they are weak and disappointments to their species.

New York is one of my favorite places to visit. The PC culture has ruined the culture of NY. The pride of being a New Yorker rivaled Southern pride and I deeply respected that New York characteristic.

I love how they have no issue stereotyping Skynard as a bunch of hillbillies.
If that was my friends, I'd put on Green River and just wait for the kill shot.

Ahhh yeah...the dulcet tone of "Turn it up!" preparing the way for a song of glorious generalized southern edification, and specifically related to the great state of Alabama...with the opportunity to sneak in a few "Roll Tide Roll"s during the chorus...that my friends is about as awesome of a 4 minutes as can be ONLY to be outdone knowing it made a pack of rabid liberals melt in place at a Fairway Market in Brooklyn, NY. Realizing that the song conjured up graphic and traumatic images in the ranks of those shoppers about how the south, amongst other places, had just whipped out their middle finger and shoved it right in their lily white snowflake faces in the form of a Donald Trump Presidential election victory is almost more of a mental gift than one could ever ask to receive. Melt, melt....meeeeelt little candy arse snowflakes!

For what it's worth, there is zero chance this is anything but satire.

I think the store really underperformed here. What they should have pulled out was some Merle Haggard's Fightin Side Of Me, or Oakie From Muskogee.
Those liberals would have really flipped their shite.

I dunno about that...the word "Alabama" triggers many these days so it would be tough to out-do dropping it in a song like that...

Yeah you can walk down the street in Bensonhurst and no one would ever bother you, same for the Rockaways. Some really good people live there....great Italian food in Bensonhurst and Sheepshead Bay

These stupid libs really don't understand the song. It was a comeback to Neil Young and not some sort of endorsement of segregation and racism. Neil and Ronnie Van Zandt were actually pretty good friends.

Do you think this matters to people silly enough to be offended by it?

Human wave attacks only go so far with the advances in weaponry, both in lethality and in precision.

This has to be satire.
