So in OP's imagination, moving the seat of American government is easier than the ability for lobbyist's offices to relocate to a different city?

Before the discussion moves any further, it's important to get the nomenclature correct:

capitAl (city) = municipality that is the seat of government

capitOl (building) = a building in which a legislative body meets

You are correct. Thanks, mom.

Just think of all of the jobs that this would create. We better keep some of those Mexicans for all the construction work. Do they make trailers long enough for the Washington Monument?

It is cute you still think this will happen. Like a child who still believes in Santa.

This is a YUGE problem, and more will need to be done to address this, as well. It will be easier to address it without the beneficiaries of the lobbyist's largess being the ones interpreting and enforcing the laws (i.e. new bureaucracy).

No. New bureaucracy, new rules. Limit the time that someone can be a government employee.

I actually appreciated the lesson. I'm terrible with spelling and grammar, so I actually didn't know the difference.

I've always felt the capital should be in our nation's most valuable state. Not totally sure which city though, probably LA or San Diego

So we have to make some extremely expensive move to address an issue that is relatively unrelated to the move?
