Washington, DC was built atop a swamp, and it seems that although the water receded long ago, the swamp slime and vermin have remained. Why not move the capital to a new location in the U.S., leave the infected District of Columbia behind, and start over with a new location, new buildings, new institutions and new personnel? A clean, fresh start.

Expensive? Yes. But not nearly as expensive (financially, morally, culturally and politically) as maintaining the sinking ship full of rats and disease that is our nation's capitol.

If you're in favor, name a location and give reasons why.

I think this would be a large step toward DRAINING THE SWAMP.

Vegas real estate is too expensive.

Move it to Biloxi.

Why not put it in the middle of our nation. Relocate the Capitol to the State of Kansas

Move it to Omaha, Nebraska and see how many well-to-do Kennedys want to spend 40 years in government.

Move it to Duson, Louisiana. Hot bed of Trump support so we can truly MAGA.

Before the discussion moves any further, it's important to get the nomenclature correct:

capitAl (city) = municipality that is the seat of government

capitOl (building) = a building in which a legislative body meets

We are. That's why I suggested Biloxi or Las Vegas.

1. I'm not a Republican.

2. I care about our moral, social, financial, cultural and political budget. Taking all things into account, moving the capitol seems like a possible solution to allowing it remain in a location full of infected bureaucratic zombies.

St.Louis. They moved the federal capital there after a massive pandemic in my favorite TV show The Last Ship. They argued that having the capital in a central location in the US would make it more accessible for the surviving citizens in the East AND West.

How about we get rid of a lot of Fed Departments and move that shite back to the states, like the Dept of Education. That would drain a large part of the swamp.

Should move it to Los Angeles, then kick California out of the union.

I came to post something like this. Put is somewhere that's far away from everything. Make it to where no one wants to go there or anywhere near it. Yes, a town would develop around the government center, but it's far from NYC/Boston? etc.

So you just want to make another part of our country full of infected beaurocratic zombies?
