Because Muslims in this country are a minority therefore they must be suffering from some form of oppression thus the only reason they follow Sharia in the first place is because Whitey is bad. If they just reach out to these Sharia-practicing Muslims then those Muslims would see that not all crackers are bad and would put away their misdirected anger and violence. Because, after all, deep down we're all the same and want the same things.

Someone else may be able to put it more succinctly and eloquently than I, but that's the brunt of Liberal Logic with regards to Muslims and Sharia.

Because in the Western World rape is vilified and looked down upon. We are taught that it is wrong and people feel that it is a christian influence on what is now known as common morality. In Islam, rape is glorified and is more like a right and every day occurrence. It's not even considered rape if the other person is dressed provocatively. That's their culture and religious belief.

Thus the Western world that preaches tolerance is trying to accept that fact that rape culture is in fact a foundation stone dating back all the way to Muhammed himself, of Islam. Thus that doesn't fall under normal Western Value but instead Islamic religious belief.
