If you were a Jew would you want to go back to Russia?

I have friends who are Soviet-born Jews. Persecution of Jews even after the fall of the USSR was so bad that Jews, for fear of their lives, had to have forged papers to make them look not Jewish. They have Russian legal names as a former disguise against possible persecution and were unable even name their children Jewish names. Every Jew I know has two sets of papers, and they had to use the forged non-Jewish ones for immigration purposes, so their legal American names are still Russian.

That place is beyond fricked up.
