Why do progressives feel the need to white knight for Muslim terrorist?

Every single time there's a mass killing anywhere, people start to speculate on who did it.
The speculation usually involves what method they used and where it happened, and usually people start assuming it was done by Muslim terrorist.
Then here come the libtard progressives attacking those who speculate that it was a Muslim terrorist.
Of course they're usually wrong because 90% of mass killings around the world are caused by Muslim terrorists.
Why do they feel the need to defend these scumbags? WTF?

Because most of them have muslim friends who have fully integrated into american culture (ie, cafeteria muslims/not real muslims), and they feel like y’all are attacking their friends for something that some rando a-hole did.
Conservatives often make the mistake of assigning middle easter islam to most american muslims. Liberals often make the mistake of assigning western islam to most middle eastern muslims. Being that there are signficantly more middle eastern muslims than ones integrated into western culture, liberals are definitely making the bigger mistake.

I think it's a combination of guilt and projection. Most white progressives, despite their alleged love of minorities, live in upper class, urban bubbles that are de facto segregated from areas with large amounts of poor people of color. To convince themselves that they aren't racist, they support policies that perpetuate and reinforce white guilt and victimhood, as if that absolves them of being as close-minded as they claim rural and working class whites to be.

Muslims are filth. They need to stay on their side of the world. We do not need to let them be here. I can't believe I'm saying that because it sounds terrible. But it's just the damn truth. They worship a prophet and live by a bible that commands them to kill us and destroy our way of life. There is no room for them here
