They didn't actually believe a special prosecutor would be appointed. They could scream from the rooftops and look like they were fighting the good fight without any consequences. Now they're scared of what will be uncovered.

Are you deranged? Combined the two of them have barely addressed the media since the election/inauguration/clustercuss that is Donnie.
Trumpkins were speculating ominously about their low profile. They pop up and do an interview and Trumpkins lose it, asking why they can't stay away. Now, they've gone back to limited media interaction and you try to make a big stink on it.
I'm convinced the entire GOP base gobbles Rodger Stones's saggy, Nixon stamped, lying, cheating goat balls. Your behavior is evidence.

I firmly believe the DEM establishment (MSM/HRC/etc.) wanted to be able to scream for 8 years about "needing a special prosecutor" + "refusal to appoint special prosecutor proves guilt" etc.
Now that one is appointed, all a Trump official has to say is "it is under investigation by the Special Counsel so we cannot comment." This appointment means that there better be something there - and that it may take years to find it.
IF it is resolved quickly that is bad news for the DEMs. Worse news for them is that real crimes/coverups by the DEMs are uncovered and grand juries are convened to seek indictments for that.
