Why did Alex Jones apologize for his coverage of PizzaGate?

Alex Jones has been running with bogus stories for like 25 years and as far as I know, he has never apologized for reporting an obviously false story until PizzaGate. What was different about this one?

the MSM ran with PizzaGate. AJ says it was to make the entire story look fake.

That Pizzagate dude on 60 Minutes last night would no more sue for defamation that would Bill Clinton. And the reason why is DISCOVERY. There would be a ton of folk/support rally to the anti-Pedophilia cause...and a ton of money and Political/Civil Law demands for looking into all those dirty corners.
Alex got in over his head. But that ship has sailed.

Pretty coincidental that AJ apologized and the IMDB actor/gunman that went into Comet plead guilty right before the "pizzagate" protest Saturday.

Are you saying you don't think any of the people who AJ has claimed are involved in child sex trafficking are suing him because they wouldn't want to be exposed to discovery? If so, then again why did AJ apologize?

Why did the extraordinarily emotive NYC Police Department come out strong re the Weiner case evidence exploding/expanding...and then/now...all quiet?
Bill Clinton alone is in deep. Don't think for one minute that the Clintons aren't ruthless; and that they play hardball and know how to CYA. Book it...there is a lot of dirty laundry floating around up there. Alex Jones loves the fame and fortune...but he likely loves his life more.
Time will tell...or the Powers that be will bury it and stay at the helm. Mother Nature 101. Survival and prosperity of the powerful...at the expense of the weak.

Because unlike his normal bullshite about the NSA tracking his semen or whatever this came really close to causing a real world tragedy and would have possibly cost him millions in a lawsuit.

Basically it is most likely because a little ole pizza parlor owner that somehow is voted as one of the 50 most powerful people in D.C. hmmmmm.... has pushed back against AJ like he has done against other that have put out videos on comet pizza and AJ blinked.

1950, I don't think we've heard the last out of the NYPD RE: what was on Weiner's hard-drive. They took a backseat to the FBI on the matter, but Comey doesn't want to touch it.
I guarantee you that the NYPD isn't done with this.
