All this talk about how horrible it is that the US pulled out of Paris.

I don't hear England and France and Germany saying they'll step-up and pay more in the USAs place. They just keep saying they want our money.

Freeloaders never want to pay for things they can guilt someone else into paying for.

3 possible reasons:

1. They're liberal and are used to spending other people's money frivolously. - see Europe
2. They're authoritarian and use these things to incrementally gain advantages over the US. - see china, Russia, and the like.
3. We've become too liberal and therefore have this need to bring ourselves down as punishment for our success.

Or when Dems moan about NPR or arts funding...just step up and pay more yourself.

It's so easy for all these crappy 3rd world countries and others to go along with the Paris stuff when the big countries foot the bill. I bet participation wouldn't be nearly as high if everyone had to contribute.

It has been that way since just after WW2. The US stepped in to rebuild the economies and infrastructure of the Western European nations ...and the Japanese for that matter....but ever since then, the world has had their collective hands out and we have just continued to oblige.

Maybe it's time to rethink this?

Imagine you have a friend that wants to take you out to eat every night at awesome restaurants. Each night he pays the tab, tax, and tip. When you are leaving he gives you $1000 per night to cover your cab fare for the half-mile trip home.

You fritter away the extra $990 per day.

After 40 years he stops. It would cause separation anxiety from the daily windfall.

Paying their own bills needs to become the new normal.

Because they watch our news and see how much money we are willing to spend on stupid shite. Then they be all like "let's make a sad video and get the liberals in America to pay for it". Kinda like when you're at a family gathering and the lazy aunt from the singlewide starts passively talking about how her cable got cut off or her dog needs a surgery, just hoping some dumbass will give her some money.

Elon Musk is another one.

Dude take your company and go to one of these counties and open green power plants and provide all the energy for free.

Don't want to do that? Like your money and profits and the ability to keep your doors open? Yeah, then shut the frick up.

They, along with most of Europe, seem to be picking up the refugee tab in our place.
