As being part of a cult, but if you support a President, you are part of a cult?

If you support a sports team, then you are not part of a cult

If you support a President, you are part of a cult.

Makes no sense to me

If you blindly support any and everything someone or something does, and don't judge their actions individually, you are part of a cult. Regardless of what/who you are supporting.

This isn’t a political post

It’s a pop culture post/question

It's a matter of degree of support. Taylor Swift fans have a cult where they attack anyone that says anything bad about Taylor

News flash: if your life and being revolves around politics and every aspect of it is viewed through a political lens you are in a cult. The flavor of cult doesn't matter.

Now, take this to the correct board.

Does it make sense to you to start threads over every silly thought that crosses your mind even though that's against board guidelines?

There are degrees of support.

The further you go, the more cult-like you are.

Correct. If your dear leader can do no wrong it's a cult whether it's a pop star or a President.

Cultish behavior is the rule of emotion and death of reason.

Nah, that's pretty cult-y to hold individuals with adoration and praise.

If you cheer on a politician the way people do their favorite sprots team....yeah, that's pretty creepy and cultish.

Being a fan of a sports team is fine, because it's not really serious. Yes you are emotionally invested on the sports team success, but overall, most people don't take it that serious. Therefore, being fanatical is really just playful.

Being fanatical over politicians is just strange behavior.

Can you repeat that a few more times? I'm not sure I've caught on to your idea.

I bet I could make a long list of simple ideas that don't make much sense to you.
