And does anyone know where I can get some in the BR/Ascension/Livingston area?

Because the new ones supposedly save energy, and the politicians are all about appearing like they care.
Oh, and in case you didn't know, the new ones are an environmental disaster.
But who cares? It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside cause we are saving energy!!

If they're going to ban them, they better ban them from Congress and the White House as well.

I remember the 100 watt ones were good for growing groovy plants in the 70's.
The new ones are more of a hazard supposedly and I think some huge fine if they are not disposed of in a certain ridiculous liberal-think way.
EPA BS regs
who does this?
Where to recycle CFLs after they burn out
Visit search.Earth911.com to find collection schedules in your area or drop-off locations if curbside collections are not available.

In 10 to 15 years all the libs will be blaming repubs for all the mercury poisoning from cfl's. book it.

First and foremost, I'm not in support of these regulations. That said, you people do realize the those mercury heavy curly bulbs aren't the only ones on the market, right?

Stuff like this infuriates me.

I have never seen those. Do they go up to 175 to grow groovy pot plants?

Straight from ignorance to ad hominem in one post. Well done.

I don't think CA was insulting you.
She made a post earlier about growing pot in the 70s.

If so, my apologies. Calling all libertarians potheads is a pretty common tactic on this board
ETA: Cree apparently introduced a 200 lumen bulb in 2012. Who knows what they are up to now

Pols wont allow any new power plants built. Regulations. No coal use. Govt backs plans to eliminate incandescent bulbs in favor of more energy efficient ones and pass expense onto the citizenry. Feel good answer to problem of need for more energy production.

Been doing a little research, Bush is the one who signed this big govt abortion into law. A republican being a big gov't hypocrite, color me shocked.
I also saw that Texas passed a law that mandates Texans could buy incandescent bulbs if they are manufactured and sold in texas, no idea if a federal judge has thrown that out yet or not because I couldn't find anything. Could there be a black market in Texas or somewhere else?

There are probably a handful of businesses who stand to gain who made this happen.
