"I" represents anyone that supports the president elects view that illegal immigration should be stopped.

I'm not gonna try to get in DJT's head and guess whether he's a racist or not, but it isn't unfair to call some of the things he said racist, and it isn't unfair to put the racist label on a person's approval of and alignment with the things he said.

Not that I'm putting that label on anyone; only that if you get called a racist for supporting DJT's immigration policy, you asked for it.

You all don't want to hear that or deal with that though -- so carry on with the school yard level stuff and enjoy validating yourself.

Yeah. That.

It's not racist to recognize that people who come to the US illegally are breaking the law.

The discussions around this can tend to have some nasty racial overtones though especially once we start talking about what we'd like to do with undocumented immigrants who are already here, who have families and jobs and contribute to local economies. If your reaction is "round 'em up!" That can come off as a bit jarring.

Some people that come to this country without proper documentation come here for a better life, fleeing poverty, oppression, violence, and other horrible things. Of course I prefer them to go through the official paths. But I also recognize that we're talking about human beings here - nationality aside - with families and livelihoods, and I prefer to keep the conversation in respectful and empathetic terms.

I didn't nor did my OP state all of that, I specifically said "his views that illegal immigration should be stopped "

Stick to the facts please, this view alone, by itself has been labeled by liberals as racist

Why?

Exactly.

And I'll admit that some of the fervor about building the wall, sending them back, etc. is really just overflow from Trump enthusiasm and probably not indicative of any dislike or hatred for immigrants.

But why should the belief that stopping illegal immigration is a correct course of action, lead anyone to assume that another person is racist?

I want to end illegal immigration and I am a liberal on some issues.

some, but not all.

IF you are really interested in ending illegal immigration tell your members of congress to make it a federal felony to hire even one. the down side with this is the claim that people use fake id. Big Brother will eventually have to provide biometric readers so everyone can easily prove/dispute citizenship. This law can be used in cases of corporate repeat offenders. the CEO, the CFO, HR head and hiring manager all go to the slammer.
Once that's in play, and the CEO is shown on all news networks being pushed into the backseat of a police car, hiring illegals will end.

Wrong, in Texas, you can get a drivers license and social security card at any flea market.

Boom. Otto!!! You just outed yourself. You're the only one to feel that passionately and to be that educated on that precise solution.

Welcome back brother!!! Missed you!!!

Wanting to end illegal immigration is neither sufficient nor necessary to be a racist.

...but neither does it preclude being a racist.

Generally anti-immigration is associated with racism in this country due to the long history of anti-immigration stances by racists.

Not from the left but it's not. And no matter what they say, they are wrong.

Responses so far:

2. Liberals WANT to stop illegal immigration too,

Well the liberals responding are not being very honest when they do give you a response so this might be one of those cases in life where the allegation being leveled is all that matters.
