Maybe, but if Hillary is the Democratic nominee (I'm not 100% sure she'll run - she looks absolutely terrible and I tend to believe the rumors about her health) then there will be a similar record turnout amongst women. There would also be plenty of moderate women who have voted for Republicans in the past but would vote for Hillary (even if they told their Republican husbands something different).

Reality, no one. The electoral college is too far gone now. The Democrats have 40% of the votes they need by winning three states (CA, IL and NY). Those are automatics. Throw in FL and OH, which are near automatic now, and you have statistically almost no chance of a GOP president.

I am of the mindset that the GOP WH ship has sailed.

The electoral college is actually a huge saving grace for Republicans - it forces the Democrats to spread their assets. If we ever went to the popular vote, the Dems could easily set up shop in the top 15 populace cities in America and just hammer the GOTV. Think of how many unmined African American/hispanic votes there are in the NYC, Chicago, LA because the Dems don't sweat the GOTV there - those states are arleady safely blue. Ditto for Dallas, Houston, New Orleans (where the states are safely red - no need to mine all those Dem votes). It would be an unmitigated disaster for the Republicans.

Further, your assertion that FL and OH are "near automatic" for the Democrats now is retarded.

McCain would have won Florida easily if he had picked Lieberman instead of the BBC-loving bimbo.

Romney would have won Florida easily if he had picked Rubio instead of Ryan. He'd have had better performances in Colorado, NM, Nevada as well.

Romney is easily more liberal than Rubio. Easily. He's arguably more liberal than Lieberman.,

I don't know about that. Rubio's views on illegal immigration/amnesty showed his true colors.

Its amazing but Ryan didn't bring a single vote to the ticket that Romney didn't already have.

None of them. Whoever gets the nomination has no chance. If he wins a debate it will be a sign of the Republican "war on women." If he loses a debate he will be seen as weak because be lost to a women. There will be no way to get positive press. The Dems will win and it will have nothing to do with policies.

So a male Republican candidate has never beaten a female Democratic candidate in a high-profile race?

That's why the GOP will have to nominate has great charisma. The general election is a marketing campaign. Who would you rather have a beer with. That's where Romney failed in 2016 and I hope that is what he would improve on in 2016 if he were to run. Hillary will be strong but she won't be near as formidable as she would've been in 2008.

I beg to differ with you here, the numbers of Demacrat voters would increase without a doubt but The republican would be able to pick up tens of millions of votes from the more populated states where they get none currently. More people voted republican in CA in the last election than live in the state of LA. The electoral college protects the Dems right now.

Romney
Only he has the voice that can confront Hillary and brand her as Obama's 3rd term, and make it stick. His side will have to keep this terrible thought out there for the bulk of 2016. He will need to stay on message and not try to please all people. She will be ruthless. He will need to be teflon and Reagan cool.
